You're practically a slut just for having Komplete 5....!

I loaded everything in the other day and have been messing with it ever since. B4II is pretty amazing, then I touched on Massive, Absynth (works fine), and Reaktor. Yesterday I spent most of the day tweaking Akoustik Piano presets- all the pianos are very nice, ending up playing the Beckstein a lot- loaded a VSL cello ensemble in Kontakt, fired up Guitar Rig and the rest of day passed happily and quickly. I haven't even grokked Battery, FM8, or Elektrik Pianos yet.

There is a LOT of stuff on them discs.

It really is a killer package- although I really couldn't afford it, I picked up Komplete with its ten manuals, because it was too good of a deal to pass up. At the same time I found a deal on Final Cut Studio that was too good to pass up, and am now broke and installing it.

I don't know where to start. But a deal is a deal is a deal. And the Native Instruments stuff is sounding great- I already owned Akoustik Piano, which I thought was alright, and now I think it's probably the worst of them all. I have always loved Absynth, and am really digging everything else as well. I'm loving the sounds in Battery, but can't believe there is no step sequencer built into it, which I'm used to. So now I need to find a way to use it well, I think I'll be using the Hyper Editor in Logic for that, so now I'll have to spend some time learning that as well. It's a good thing I like to learn...

Yeah, its pretty crushing considering I paid $669.00 for it in February and I already owned B4 II and K3.

Too bad I live in Germany where it costs 399 EUROS -- which is about 550 USD. Not quite as exciting.

And the last time I tried to "beat the system" and order something abroad, I got slapped with a customs tax at the door! The postman rang and it was like "So, if you want this package, that'll be another 100, please!"

It's the 19% VAT which kills me every time. Ah, the joys of living in a socialist state!

Oh well, shouldn't complain. Live is good. Even if it's inkomplete.

Looks like this special is now over. The product is not showing up on MusiciansFriend, except for the upgrade version, as far as I can tell.

I wrote them a note to find out if I can still order at that price, since I have been wanting to have Kontakt for years (let alone all the additional applications).

I'm pretty sure this special pricing of $399 runs through the month of July and you should be able to get it directly from NI's web shop if you want. The MusiciansFriend deal was a coupon code that knocked it down to $334, but as far as I know, the $399 deal is still out there through the end of this month.

I just got a note from Musician's Friend saying:

Hello Fellow Musician,
Thank you for your recent inquiry. Unfortunately it appears that we sold out of that item, and it's currently being discontinued by the manufacturer. So unfortunately no we wouldn't be able to offer it at that price. Sorry about that.

So unfortunately I missed the $334 deal. I should have jumped sooner, darnit. That extra $65 savings would have covered the exchange rate and shipping costs to get it to me in Canada.

Oh well... Ce la vie.

I was going to suggest ordering it from Guitar Center, but it seems that they are out as well. AudioMIDI.com still have Komplete for $399, though, if that's any help to anyone.

That's the result I got when I did a search for Komplete 5 at Musician's friend. AudioMidi has the same results. Where are you all seeing the $399 deal from?
