Anyone not familiar with the Labs series from Spitfire might want to have a look. This is a particularly interesting set of sounds, but there are a few dozen other libraries that all work in the same plugin. Not all life changers, but all useful in their way and all free.

Nice! I was actually not aware of these and am downloading Strings right now. Already downloaded Drums and plan to download Vintage Drums, next. Cool stuff!

CreepY Piano 3 Lite - FREE

Post by James Steele »

This is a fun little freebie. In time for Halloween...

https://electroniksoundlab.com/creepy-piano-3-lite/
Enter the dark side of sound with Creepy Piano 3 Lite, the follow-up of our popular mutated and utterly scary piano plugin for Windows and macOS. This new version comes with a renewed interface and structure, preserving all the parameters of the full version, but with a smaller number of presets.

Creepy Piano 3 Lite has a lo-fi touch and contains processed piano samples originally recorded from Steinway & Sons A-188 and Yamaha C3 pianos; all the presets from the previous version are included too.

The interface is user-friendly and straightforward with ADSR amplitude envelope, LFO modulation, lowpass/highpass filter and cutoff. New effect modules were added – delay and reverb, each of which comes with typical controls and parameters.

The sound shape & feel can be further manipulated with the ADSR envelope, but also the included tremolo section – LFO modulation with rate & depth. Last but not least, volume (gain) and pan complete the global controls.

But the sound design capabilities don’t stop here: those 4 additional sound effects (rain, vinyl, wind & dark) at the bottom can be layered with any preset. Each sound effect has individual controls for gain, pan, plus they can be turned on/off from a switch.

Creepy Piano 3 Lite is perfect in the creation of cinematic background music for games and videos, lo-fi hip hop, trap, creative sound design, also in any production where a dark piano sound is needed.

The virtual instrument is available in VST/VST3 & AU plugin versions for DAWs and other plugin hosts running on Windows and macOS.

Features:

Windows & Mac
28 Multi-Sampled Piano Presets
LFO modulation controls
Lowpass/highpass filter cutoff
ADSR envelope controls
4 Field Recordings
Built-in vintage reverb
Built-in delay
Samples meticulously edited one by one
Easy to use
100% royalty free
System Requirements on Windows:

Windows 8.1/10/11
1,08 GB Disk Space
1 GB Ram
VST/VST3 host 64-bit
System Requirements on MacOS:

macOS 10.14 And Above
1,08GB Disk Space
1 GB Ram
AU/VST/VST3 host (64-bit)

FREE Piano VI

Post by Rick Cornish »

Straight Ahead Samples—who has put out some *really* good sets of jazz-oriented samples (drums with sticks and brushes, bass, trumpet, et al)—just released a free VI of a 1903 Chickering piano with a vintage vibe. They say it will work on Kontakt 6.5.2 or the free Kontakt player.

Post by James Steele »

I went by the site of the developer of Plugin Doctor (I ended up buying it as I wanted to geek out and see what my various plugins were doing), and found this freebie. Haven't tried it yet, but sounded good from the description the the price is right. :)

Free Haloween Omnisphere Patches at Ilio

Post by Rick Cornish »

Just received an email from Ilio offering a couple Free Omnisphere patches between now and 10/31. The new patches (a riser and a BPM patch) were supposedly derived from NASA's "sonification" of a black hole (spooky, huh?).

Here's the link…

Monster Strings - FREE

Post by James Steele »

Pretty cool FREE string VI. (It's also Apple Silicon native.) Here's the link:

https://agushardiman.tv/monster-strings ... ram-usage/

From the page:
#MonsterStringsVST is a Free String virtual instrument that sound great but still lightweight in RAM usage.

I’m Agus Hardiman and I made this Monster Strings as light as possible but still usable for your music arrangement.

For example, some presets are just around 25MB of file size.

If you compare Monster Strings VST with any other VST plugins from East West, 8Dio, Native Instruments, or anything else, my VST doesn’t have detailed and many string articulations sound but I do hope this VST has its own use in your music production!

In this 1st version, Monster Strings has 13 Presets, divided into 2 main categories: ACOUSTIC and SYNTHESIZER. ACOUSTIC has 2 sub-categories which is ENSEMBLE and SOLO.

UVI Prime8+ Drum Machine - normally $39, FREE with CODE

Post by James Steele »

Just saw this on the latest "Deal Compressor Show." Here's a the link to the video: https://youtu.be/piES3nsbzW0
(I recommend you subscribe to this guy's YouTube channel.

Anyway, UVI's Prime8+ drum machine soundbank for Falcon/UVI Workstation is normally $39. If you check out and user the promo code FREEP8, it will change your total to $0.00
Here's where to get it: https://bit.ly/3NAl5hT

(I am having problems with that link just above. The "BUY" button doesn't seem to work. What does seem to work for me is going to the YouTube video here https://youtu.be/piES3nsbzW0 and then using the link in the video description. Scroll down to where you see "SNEAK FREEBIE." Maybe UVI is making sure the links come from the YouTube promotion?)

Here's an overview:
