Here is a deal you should consider if you would like a synth with a different personality added to your sonice toolbox - for $1 !!!!
Hybrid 3 has 2 layers which can be 2 different presets - each layer has a SEQ and the sounds are really nice. Decent Effects and over 1200 patches included - Tough to pass up for $1 !!
This is perfect, Rick, thanks. I was just looking for an alternative to CamelSpace and CamelPhat.
I tried to find a coupon on line but finally had to settle for 1.02 exchange rate.

Yes, they have been talked about here quite often.
Due to working in every genre imaginable (and unimaginable) -- and I mean non-western ones and historical ones as well -- one piano will never be enough for me, so I hesitate to recommend "just one" to anyone else unless I know specific details about their limited range of styles/genres.
Recently, however, I have found new love for the TrueKeys German, which is a Bechstein. It just cuts through the mix in ways my other pianos don't, without dominating or sounding too bright or too phasey in the mid registers. I rarely if ever use Yamaha samples anymore as a result.
So the Bechstein gets used now in a lot of pop/rock stuff, and some other stuff where I may have more of a repetitive riff going, or where I may be playing more brutally, as I can cut the volume back and still be heard.
Ravenscroft is my favourite but doesn't "work" on a lot of my material, compared to TrueKeys Italian (a Fazioli), which is probably my most-used altogether as I like how it does on pedaling and complex jazz-inspired chords as well as on repeated notes (excellent escapement).
Currently, these are on sale as individuals as well as the set, but Ravenscroft is always excluded and a separate purchase. The set also includes a Steinway, which is above average but outdone by probably three others (Galaxy Vintage D, and especially Soniccouture Hammersmith Pro, as well as Pianoteq's current Steinway model in V6).
In short, the TrueKeys package is good value -- probably the best buy at that price for a set of two or three key piano models.

Use them all the time. HOWEVER... the company says there are three pianos ion my package (Italian, German, American).Having been a piano tuner technician in my past life (Baldwin, Steinway, Yamaha) I am particularly critical of subtle nuances between instruments. After much careful listening, I've postulated that it is one instrument that has been EQ'd to make it sound like three different instruments. The "tell" is an errant harmony on one note in particular. I think it was F# an octave above middle C. There's a harshness (due to hammer voicing) that appears in all three instruments to one degree or another. The chances of three pianos have just that one note out of voicing is pretty slim.
That said, the three versions are, in fact, quite different and the instrument is very useful in all sorts of settings, including solo work. It is my go to for 90% of my piano tracks (and I do a lot of those). When I'm looking for a low CPU piano to fit into a not so critical piano mix, I'll generally go to the PlugSound Pro basic grand. PSPro is a great set of general instruments at a very reasonable price. Before TrueKeys, that was my go to. Now, I just have to have TrueKeys. It's very editable and the FX (resonance, key noise, hammer noise, reverb, etc) are all very tastefully executed. You won't be disappointed.

There was a free version of this (?) but I don't see it on the site now.
You might be thinking of Bob Katz's K-Meter, which was free at one time (I think…). To the best of my knowledge, I don't think this one was ever offered for free.

Don't think so. I've had bx-meter for quite a while and I recently downloaded it from my account to a new HS partition to make sure I had the latest version. Pretty sure I didn't pay for it , and know I didn't pay $99. Maybe a black friday no brainer from a few years back. Anyway, $9 is a good deal and this is a good time to get it.
