Hey Andy... I apologize for bothering you with this, but I'm really digging Overcast and I'd like to make some tweaks to suit my personal tastes. I have an older version of your reference chart. I'm trying to find the parameter in the Default.xml file for the soundbite background in the Track Overview when the option for just colored waveform is set in the preferences.
I'm talking about this area in the picture below:
I think I'd like to make it just a bit lighter. Thanks!

Hey thanks Andy... that's too cool! BTW, I strongly urge those of you who are digging Andy's work to send him a donation via his website at

Thanks again, Andy!

Oh, and did we mention that donating to Andy gives you the right to bother him relentlessly?

I've donated multiple times, so I get to bother him almost daily!

I did not write what I meant to say well as I have been a bit out of it being sick and on pain meds, I am a little more coherent today. What I think would be nice is if the meters could change color at different levels so it would be easier to see what is going on, like green to yellow to red. It is more likely that would be one hard thing to do if you even could.
As it is I love the fact you changed the hard to see blue back to the old green that is easier to see. I do not even use the skin that comes from the box any more, hell I may just delete that copy of DP.

I think I need to put up the old "Things I can't do anything about" list on the site to help with these questions.
MOTU overrode the old graphics for gradient meters with a single .xml parameter. They may have done this for CPU efficiency, I don't really know. There are only settings now for the active and peak hold color. Gradients aren't possible anymore, sadly.
As much as the rest of the Logic GUI is not that good, the meters are set up so that you have an inactive state and an active state graphic. You can get really creative with it, as you can see on my Logic mod pages. I wish MOTU would go back to this.

Hey andy, I was actually talking about the gradient going around the knobs, something to indicate pan with a little more than just the tick on the knob. Like a halo.

Ah. I've included these on a couple of the mods, but avoided it mostly. I've always found the halo added a layer of unecessary "indication". My eyes relax more on the mods without the halos. But perhaps I could make options eventually for all.

Man, I dig that! Are those knobs basically on the mixer from Mellow?

Yup, same knobs, just added a glow to the background. Just fixed the narrow auto buttons, so a v3 will come soon.

Yes!!!! +10000
FYI: I installed your Logic 9 GUI with Logic Studio 8... It worked!!!

I like the meters more than the original, BUUUUT I´m glad I´m not a Logic Chick as DP is so much prettier aaaaand better for my work
Question: How come when I copy/paste the GUI icon it gets "black boxed" It has always been like that. Is it just me??
They are all "black boxed" in the Dock too..

Good idea for the appearance of loops .
