Shooshie made a good point in saying I should go more hardcore with Oxidized. So there may be a Simple rust-colored vibe like I was doing, and a more hardcore version heading towards this...

Nice idea for the "rusted" mod...

Re: AmpGUI7 (now at AMPGUIMODS.COM)
Hey Amp can you make the counter numbers look like the ones in the "night" mod?amplidood wrote:Nice idea for the "rusted" mod...
I think that'd be very cool.
Thanks

Re: AmpGUI7 (now at AMPGUIMODS.COM)
I've always wanted to play around with an old style number thing, like old gas pumps, etc.

Now... THAT'S getting COOL! VERY Cool! I like the "gas pump" numbers, btu they might ought to be larger, and maybe with serifs. "Old" numbers.
[edit: Making a list of fonts that might work, though I don't know how to handle the fact that not everyone will have them]
Century Schoolbook
Bodoni Regular (or Poster for fat font)
Baskerville Old Face
Century 725
Clarendon ** excellent old face
Clarendon Condensed -- perfect for counter (tall, skinny numbers)
Didot regular or bold
Gloucester MT Extra Condensed
Modern No. 20 (really a nice look for a "gas pump" display)
News 701
Poster Bodoni
Those are the best I can come up with. Maybe if you showed us where to put the font, we could do it ourselves.

Re: AmpGUI7 (now at AMPGUIMODS.COM)
It's not really a simple font setting. I have to position the numbers individually as spacing/hinting changes per font and also I'm doing slight shading/shadowing tricks. I wish it were just a setting...Shooshie wrote:Now... THAT'S getting COOL! VERY Cool! I like the "gas pump" numbers, btu they might ought to be larger, and maybe with serifs. "Old" numbers.

Oh, that's right. I think I've seen the "numberboard" in the files. Well, so much for THAT idea! Still, it's looking great.

Re: AmpGUI7 (now at AMPGUIMODS.COM)
Sorry, I like it but the yellow MUTE buttons may have tendency to blend with the color mixing of this page ! Or it's just my feeling .

Re: AmpGUI7 (now at AMPGUIMODS.COM)
This old rusted fella looks very unique - in a good way
Looking forward to it...
Just a thought... I'm feeling like I want the faders (that aren't muted) to jump out at me a bit more, like the pan pots do. They're nice and clear. Also, I'm not a huge fan of the font on the mixer buttons (solo, mute, etc). They look good when they're not lit up. I think my eyes want the text to either stand out a little more or to be not there at all. Maybe it's just the font...
I feel this one will at least come second to GoldComplete. Maybe even be my #1. But then the hardcore rust will come along...
Thanks for all your hard work Amp!
Look, I'm getting rusty!

I've kinda been losing my love for those buttons anyway as this thing develops, for sure. Something new will surely pop upnpj wrote:This old rusted fella looks very unique - in a good wayLooking forward to it... I'm not a huge fan of the font on the mixer buttons (solo, mute, etc). Awesome. I'm sure this one (and hardcore rust) will be killer.
(By the way, I edited my previous post slightly, re the buttons...)

I think the buttons look pretty darned good, myself. They're different looking, and I like that.
It's all looking great. Can't way to see the rest of it!
