Re: Plug-in Sales and Special Deals Sticky Topic
Looks like the AIR Instrument Complete upgrade deal is back, don't know for how long.
This time it's only $60. Lowest price I've seen. (Last time it was $75.)
May be too much temptation even for someone in my over-arsenaled/under-funded state...

Gadzooks! Grab it! If only for Loom (a marvelous interface for an additive synth) and Velvet (one of my favorite electric pianos!) Hybrid and Xpand!2 are definitely classics by now, and are likely the route most people will obtain this "upgrade" through, they are bundled with so many devices. Vacuum Pro is a very nice sounding synth, and its "smart randomization" feature really works well.Babz wrote:Looks like the AIR Instrument Complete upgrade deal is back, don't know for how long.

Re: SoundToys Pan Man $29 thru Aug. 4
Go for it! This is the most amazing panning plug-in ever. You can go from subtle to psyhedelic. Just be careful to check the mono mix for phase cancellation issues before finalizing your settings.
BTW, the one from MOTU is pretty good too, even if less full-featured. I'll often get my settings there and then transfer them to SoundToys PanMan.

Re: TC Polytune Plug-In for $9.99
Yep. They've had them for a while now in hardware and they're very handy for guitarists because you can very quickly strum all the strings and identify the string(s) that are out of tune, rather than pluck one at a time searching for the errant bugger!MIDI Life Crisis wrote:All 6 stings at once? Soundtoys "Little Radiator" $19 thru 8/22
Soundtoys has their model of the old Altec 1566A on sale for $19.
I remember seeing this plug-in demoed in someone's mixing video (can't remember who or where), but I was impressed enough to put it on my list.

Found this overview video - it does look interesting and has a nice interface, but I'd have to hear it now!cuttime wrote:Worth a shot? I'm not in a position to try the demo for a while.

Thanks for your trouble. Maybe it disappoints traditional reverb aficionados, but, perhaps is useful for other effects?terrybritton wrote: EDIT - Ugh... and there is this at KVR:

Yeah, that's the way I would look at it. I have enough "real" reverbs - I want effects.cuttime wrote:Thanks for your trouble. Maybe it disappoints traditional reverb aficionados, but, perhaps is useful for other effects?terrybritton wrote: EDIT - Ugh... and there is this at KVR:

Re: Oracle Reverb $13?
Well, I will admit to purchasing it. The claim of THE go to reverb is over the top. However I find it.. not THAT bad.terrybritton wrote:[quote="Ugh... and there is this at KVR:

It has it's sound, but hey I'm still using the Yamaha SPX-90, which definately was not a LX480 but it has it's use and character that to this day has daily use in major productions.
So I like it...
Why?
1. Used on the right material and context it's good
2. The concept is worth supporting. Having the Imaging controls is something others should take note of.
3, The build in dynamics is quite cool, when used with another verb or dlay. Remember the old David Bowie vocal set up with gated room mic? (which even made it into a plug in) Oracle made it fun - for me at least - adding "something" to only the loud parts of a track, from acc gtr over drums to vox.
4, at the price of cappuccino these days it's worth experimenting.
5, I like their interface design
I'm good with this.
Analog is great... We got both WOW and Flutter - what's your bias?
