Which is all very strange as I haven't changed anything in my setup and I've resumed working on the same project file...
Ouch, sorry to hear that ICM. Have you already installed all of your plugs/VI's?

I was thinking about performing a fresh install to see if it fixes my crashes, but now I'm not so sure. However, maybe I will install a new test partition with just the OS and DP7 and see if it crashes. Then I guess I would install one plug at a time to see if/when the crashes resume. I won't have time to do that for at least a couple weeks, though.

This is a long shot, but sometimes when I load a project with VI's and plugins that are authenticated on the iLok or Synchrosoft dongles. if my dongles are not in the slot (hmmm... there's got to be a better way of saying that) DP will hang indefinitely while trying to find all those authentications.

Unlikely that anyone (but me) would forget to plug in their dongles before booting (this language is just getting worse), but you never know.

With regards to the tempo sync issues with DP 7 under DAE. (Affecting Stylus, Omnisphere, and any other plug in that takes it's tempo from the sequence tempo such as the Waves Hybrid Delays, etc) I have finally heard from my open tech link at motu:

(as of 11/25/09):
We have reproduced this issue and we hope to address it in a future update of Digital Performer 7.
So at least it is acknowledged. Those of us who use DP 7 with DAE need to keep on this and other DAE related issues.... But (fingers crossed) there is progress.

Hi All,

DP 6.02 user here, wondering about various DP 6-specific issues in playing with other software and whether they've been resolved in DP7. If I missed a thread somewhere, feel free to direct me. I use a MBP C2D 2.4, 4GB RAM, 500GB HD, OSX 10.5.8

1. Can you now manipulate the knobs in Pod Farm with your mouse?
2. Will automap control of Native Instruments synths now work?
3. Is DP 7 any more stable? I get a lot of crashes with projects that use Audio Ease Riverrun (yes, I know it's old and probably buggy at this point but there's nothing else like it).
4. Would the application be noticeably leaner on CPU and RAM usage for my setup?

I use DP mostly for audio with a little bit of MIDI (basically to control softsynths), and as a master for Ableton Live. The guitar stuff seems like a redux of capabilities I already have, so is there another good reason for me to upgrade at this time? I'm disinclined to since every upgrade takes a few days of tweaking to get everything playing nice together.

Thanks.
