BreakTweaker 2 is on the horizon! (?)

Not quite on-thread-topic but it is news about an update that is upcoming.
I'm a fan of BT's BreakTweaker. It is the most fascinating groove machine I've ever used. But the user interface was a bit rough around the edges. Then Izotope abandoned it.
I just saw some tibdit that BT (main creative force behind v1) and soundlabs.ai have a new version in the works for 2025, and was thinking that some user interest might help motivate them to get it over the finish line. If already have v1 you can go here to request a link to enter your current BreakTweaker serial for a coupon for 40% off the new version when it drops sometime next year.

Signed up, 40% is a bare minimum for upgrades, but it's a new company, and who knows what they had to pay iZotope to get the intellectual property back for?

I read in a thread (so take with a grain of salt) that BT had retained rights to it; which, if true, was a wise choice.
This is a promising development, where this new company could make something really amazing from it. They sent a questionnaire asking for opinions about what we'd like to see next. I listed resizable GUI, a "song-mode" to chain patterns, and more extensive MIDI export, as well as triggering patterns via MIDI note/CC.

Hmmm...
Finding my old serial number was a bit of a challenge. It's not listed in the iZotope Product Portal and NI's revamping of the iZotope website kept anything that old from loading — seeing that it was purchased as part of a bundle had me a little concerned.
Fortunately, Find Any File.app lets me search email archives and there it was from 2018. We'll see what happens next.

I heard talk about a year ago that it was being worked-on.
Fingers crossed it turns out to be a doozie.

The webpage now offers a 50% discount.

Apparently, there was some inconsistency as to whether it is 40% or 50%. I still see 40% on that link.
It could be either, but I've lowered my expectation to 40% with the possibility of a pleasant surprise. I ended up getting the original with all the added expansions for a song, so I won't complain no matter what!!

I've mentioned this before, but the website KVR doesn't just have a forum, (where you can argue with people!

), they track every update and list every plugin they can find, it's also a store etc. They released a "KVR Studio Manager" beta application that has as it's whole purpose to track whether your installed plugins are up to date.
https://www.kvraudio.com/kvr-studio-manager
It's improved a lot since I first installed it, you can now hide the occasional miss-read of the plugin version number from the list etc.
I have roughly 500 plugins or 1000 in VST and AU, about a third of them needed updates.
It scans your plug ins, checks against their database, then lists them as kvr newer, up to date or not synced. Out of 500+ plugins only around 15 were not synced. Couple great things, right clicking a plugin on the list gives a contextual menu that includes Show in Finder, and Hide. Double clicking opens a sidebar that has links to the download page for the plugin.
It 100% still makes sense to check this thread even using this app, I fell behind enough to where it took most of a day to update everything even using this app, probably would have been close to three days without it.

Where do you see this? If I go to the site, or look at the App Store, 1.93 is the latest I can see.

I'm seeing it in the (US) App Store. I'm wondering if the update got pulled? Would it still show in my App Store if I already updated? I don't know... Any other US folks chime in?

I'm seeing the update in the MacOS App Store in the U.S. It says 1.9.6 and says it is 3 days old.

Odd. I went to the web site and clicked the link to the App Store and saw 1.9.3, but going directly to the App Store got 1.9.6. Maybe a problem with old caches, or links not updated.

Hey Michael,
Wasn’t there something about KVR being “invasive” on this list a while back? I’m probably misremembering, but I thought people expressed being a big leery of the site. Just wondering before I’d consider downloading an app from them.

the KVR Studio Manager app scans your plugin folders and phones the KVR site database when you tell it to, to check if your plugins are up to date. Some are uncomfortable with that, but considering I have iZotope, NI, UA, Roli, Arturia, InMusic, Tracktion, Plugin Alliance, Waves, etc. plugin managers and likely I'm forgetting a few.. I don't see the issue.
KVR has been around for about 22 years, it's got a plugin store as well, so security should be good IMO.
