I am pleased with the new features and everything is working fine for me. I was getting several glitches while playing back samples ( triggered via VE PRO5 on a satellite PC) My buffer size was set to 128. I changed it to 512 which I never did before since the latency was unplayable but much to my surprised in DP9 this feels like 128 no perceivable difference and I can sequence without any time issue. This is really amazing and worth the upgrade alone. Thanks MOTU!
Just for clarification: 512 in <9.1 would be the same as 256 in 9.1+.

Yes I did read that but I'm coming from DP8 and feels even lower than 256 latency wise and no sample hiccups. I'm happy!

There were/are some 9.12 issues with VST plugins as well. AU versions of the same plugs work OK. VE Pro VSY and PSP Xenon specifically did not work as VSTs. More of an issue on the PC side, AFAIK, unless PCs use the AU format. I don't know if they do but seem to recall they don't.

Some edit screens may not be perfect and you may have to tweak the Control Panel - my theme of his does not have the @2x png's which are used on the 5K retina screens, but all the other elements work.
Thanks so much for this info.

I don't believe there is a way to make AUs work in Windows. They're certainly not supported.

Been testing 9.12 out this weekend pretty extensively, and all is pretty smooth. I probably don't have as many plugs as most, but I've been using AUs exclusively. I had only one crash, and that was with NI's Supercharger, and I was not able to replicate it. Kontakt, Aria, Reaktor, Samplemodeling, and Best Service all humming along quite nicely.

Here too. No bugs or problems as far as my use of DP goes. And not one crash of 9.12 so far. Not one! (Well, minus the Xenon VST plugin - just use the AU version).

That is a nice way of doing it. I am testing the Raven now. I think I'll bite ;-)

I'm glad to see that MOTU is working speedily to fix the known issues with 9.1.

I upgraded to 9.12 but when I booted up a file that had been working fine in 9.02, I got spikes and some glitchy playback for the small handful of VIs that were loaded. On repeated playback the glitches diminished, but the spikes kept registering so I scurried back to 9.02.

I know that they haven't yet tackled the pre-gen issues so wasn't terribly surprised, hopefully they will turn their attention to that soon. I may give 9.12 some more testing time, but when I go back to 9.02 I have to reset my Tracks Column Setup so think I'll opt to wait patiently as 9.02 is working very well.

What buffer setting were you running? 256 or 128 is better then a high buffer setting. It would be helpful to know what VI's you had in the project. Actually they have worked out pre-gen issues.

I can tell you for a fact that Motu is working hard on these issues (pre-gen and performance).

The 9.12 update was out to fix some fairly major issues (like the sustain pedal issue). The performance issues that a minority of people are having is more complex and there wasn't much sense in delaying certain important fixes for it.

They are working on it though!

If you are having performance issues with 9.1.x and have a moment, could you contact me via email: audiolabs -at- gmail.com

I could use some information from some folks that are in the same boat. Thank you!

So far so good, except for the East West Hollywood libraries which consistently spike my 10 core CPU. I use VEP 6 for that library in particular and the spikes are all but forgotten :-)
