I've had some correspondence with him. I don't doubt his intentions in regards to releasing anything. But my problem with the products is that they don't work for me the way they are supposed to. I regretted buying Glide I and Pedal Steel and ended up finally deciding that I will accept the purchases as a loss and not bother fiddling with them anymore because neither product was fully behaving and allowing me to lay down tracks quickly or intuitively.

I got an early version of the Glide II demo, as well, and it was exhibiting some problem behaviors again, and I decided I just couldn't keep investing in these rather pricey VIs that were *not fun* to play with. I really liked the Hawaiian Glide II guitar and really wanted to use that, but I just don't have the time to spend sitting frustrated at the keyboard. To his credit he contacted me with advice for fixing the problem, but I have never gotten around to sitting with it again and trying to figure out how to solve the issues. I've kind of lost interest.

I may revisit these instruments again when I get Kontakt 5. Maybe they will work better at then.

All I know is Mark has been responsive to me (and in fact the link for Glide II is still working for download of the 1xRR version). In fact I used Glide I for the main theme to a movie I scored recently and it sounded great and everyone loved it and was amazed that it was played on samples. Yes, the interface with the multiple strings, etc. is a little clunky, but I learned how to use it, albeit with a little on-the-fly transposition. It's the closest thing to Lowell George or Ry Cooder in a box I've found yet.

Now it looks like Ill be running 32 bit VIs and plugs in VEP and let DP8 handle the 64bit plugs/VIs. A welcome switch. It looks like so far VEP will be hosting only my Korg VIs on an as needed basis.

This is what we intend to do too Frank. Should be quite nice. Provided all the VEP / DP latency compensation oddities have been solved. (Which Magic has told me they were)
I was trying to work with VEP5 Server in 32-bit mode, which shows my orphaned 32 bit VIs, with 64 bit DP8 and haven't be able to make it work yet. More work on my end I'm sure, but any tips on best way to do this?

Please let us know of your success or otherwise. We have to have VEP running fine in 32bit as well as 64 on our rigs.

I havent gotten far enough to test that out yet.

Luckily it will only be needed for a few.
I hope the 32bit offenders are indeed available as VST's.
Yes, and figuring out how to get the VST from NI and its wacky service center was kind of maddening.

HOWEVER...I have got B4 II working, tried the Korg Wavestation, even Altiverb (whatever is current-1) all working OK. LoungeLizard is wrapped but not actually tested (passed verification in DP though) as is MTron Pro.

Figuring out which plugs are missing and then checking to see if there is an update for 64 bit and then finding there isn't and then hunting down the VST I didn't install and then getting an update for that is really taking big chunks out of the day. Most tedious. There needs to be something like the App store but for plugins that alerts you when new versions of all of them exist and then just lets you download and install them all.

That would be cool.

Just to be clear, DP8 WILL run 32 bit pugs as long as it is launched in 32 bit mode, even with the Mac booted with a 64 bit kernel. It's launching DP8 in 64 bit mode that creates the problem.

Tested the Korg VIs today and they load and play in VEP5 server 32 bit from DP8 64 bit.same for Mach5v2 so I consider this great news, but I already had VEP to run the opposite: 64 bit apps in DP 7.24

The Like the App Store concept would help for sure. I tried Version Tracker for a while and while it caught app updates, it didn't catch plug in updates very well.

I've not used VSTs since Studio Vision, you're saying that VSTs of the Korg VIs are 64 bit and will open in 64-bit DP8?

Nope. I'm saying jBridgeM wrapped VSTs of the Korg VIs work in 64 bit. I like that solution best so far. Seems simplest.

Don't forget to write to Korg and ask when their 84 bit update is coming.
