Sorry, that email is already downloaded to my Mac at home... I didn't do the upgrade myself, as I'm being very cautious about the final days of my ancient G4 and minimizing risk while in the middle of a project...

I just thought it was worth mentioning, as it might help if there are some compatibility issues with DP 7.2. But like dpdan, I have logged into my account at Celemony after other updates were announced, and found nothing there. It was NOT a Windows-only update, so that is strange...

I ran the DP 7.2 installer on my G5 with 10.4.11, and while I did see the warning message, I was able to hit Continue; the installer progressed as expected and completed ostensibly without any problems. I gave DP 7.2 a spin and it appears to be fine, so it would seem that there are at least not any immediately catastrophic issues with 10.4.11.
Very encouraging. Please keep us updated on how DP works for you!
Would like to install the update but really need to know if it work without any problems. For me it´s not the right timing to update from Tiger to another OSX. Got to many projects going on that need DP stability.
I heard back from a source at MOTU that Digital Performer 7.2 will probably work normally on 10.4.11, but it is "officially unsupported." I guess it's one of those use at your own risk deals.

How weird, I am using three identical Samsung monitors and have been since about three years ago,, but when I move the Melodyne window to either of the other monitors it's fine... how weird is that?

Onto discussing the new DP7.2
sorry guys... :)
Dan
Could it be a color thing? The particular grey just isn't showing up on those monitors? Dunno. I just checked it and it's working fine on my set-up.

Hope springs eternal! I'll try tonight on my Tiger/DP7.0x partition and keep my Tiger/DP7.12 partition as-is, just in case.
Hope all goes well! Please keep us updated on your launch. I wonder what MOTU's official reasoning is for sticking with 10.5.8 or above- might be helpful for us eager ones under the bar.

I'm now very tempted to get the Snow Leopard Box Set, which would also enable me to download the latest Omnisphere/Trilian updates. At least I'm intel.

However, the box set is $169, which is fairly dear since most content would be included in the inevitable next computer. Not a good time to buy a new computer though with a son going off to college, so it's a rock and a hard place dilemma.

Could be any number of reasons, but this alone is pretty persuasive:
10.4: April 29, 2005
10.4.11: November 14, 2007

Hopefully that DP 7.2 is completely issue-free on 10.4.11. It's a miracle!

Waiting for his 1000th will give me yet another reason to procrastinate working on whatever I thought I was working on.....

Right Click Menus!!

Now all DP needs is that pesky grid/snap mode to have an absolute/relative toggle.

I just noticed that if you option-click a plug-in insert in the mixer, it turns red. I don't remember that behavior in 7.12. Much, much easier to tell when effect is bypassed besides the italic type! Also, when a track is record enabled, the line below the fader on that channel turns red as well. Don't remember that.

Well I understand the Power PC folks sticking to Tiger or Leopard, but: Friends, Romans, Countrymen! If you run an Intel Mac you owe it to yourself to go SnowLeo!!! The effect for me was comparable to installing more RAM and freeing up tons of space on an almost-full System HD (which it incidentally actually also does do...) It's like a tune-up for your mac. Do it.

Howzaboutthat, I hadn't noticed. I've been standing on my head this whole time and thought I'd finally reached 666.
