You can do it.James Steele wrote:I noticed SampleTank's sync of course changes the PITCH of the loop. That's not too bad if it's the song tempo is only slightly different from the loop's tempo, but otherwise that's a real drag. Other thing of course is to lay out individual MIDI notes on the timeline... I don't know if it's just a chromatic ascension like Styles RMX uses, etc., but syncing loop without altering pitch would be nice.
Just make sure that your loop is selected, and then press the SYNC "PART" button (which I assume you have already figured out). Then you also have to select the SYNTH button near the middle of the GUI, and then select STRETCH as the mode (on the far left of the GUI for Synth settings). Then you can use the PITCH and TEMPO knobs, if needed.
Evidently that PDF is not "copy" friendly. But I included the text in case you want an alternate explanation with some different details.Page 30 of the PDF manual wrote:LOOP sync
In SampleTank, syncingloopstothe sequencertempoorsyncingvarious loops together is as easy as a simple click. For example, load one of the loopsthatcamewiththeXLcollectionintoapartandclicktheLOOPSYNC button (located between the Velocity button and the P.Curve knob), (figure .0).Automatically,theloopwillbesyncedwiththesequencertempo(ifthe sequencerinuseoffersthisfeature). Now,evenifyouchangethetempoof thesequencer, theLOOPwillremainsynced!
TheLOOPSYNCfeaturecanbeusedinconjunctionwithanyoftheselected Synth engines (RESAMP, PS/TS or STRETCH). However, each of them will generateadifferentsonicresultwhileusingthePITCHorTEMPOknobs.
