My pleasure Dan! :-)

And here are a couple of other essential (and official) threads for information on using your Ultimate Studio Drums. These were started after the first GB:

Hey, Zed,

I did get everything loaded up and working. Thanks so much for the help.

I'm very happy with the purchase. Most of the kits sound great!!! There's some I don't like, but that's just personal preference.

If I do this again (and I don't know why I wouldn't because it's a great deal for the money), I'll just wait to install one or two weeks after the release date to give them time to work out all the little kinks. It got a rather confusing because they were updating files two or three times a day (some of that is still going on). It was worse for me because I didn't know the procedure or what to expect, and their documentation not very comprehensive. I read the first GB was even worse (you would know about that). Now that I know how it works it doesn't seem that bad.

That Squids guy is a nice guy and works his butt off. And he makes some mean grooves, too.

Thanks again.

My pleasure Dan. Glad you like the kits. :-)

There were a few that I wasn't crazy about either, and since I already own the MT versions of numerous of those kits, I decided to invest in the MT Signature Kits when they become available, which will basically be the same as those STm kits with the added advantage of control over the assorted mics, which can really allow you to customize things further.

You can save MT kit pieces and use them in conjuntion with kit pieces from STm kits, which is really cool. One day soon I will have a few ULTIMATE kits which I will use for most things. And then all those different Toms and things can be used here and there to create some variety.

If you didn't get the Ultimate Studio Drums Volume 1, you should probably grab that for $99... although it was officially discontinued on Friday. But I'll bet you could beg for it. I think there were quite a few worthy drum kits in that collection, and probably some better ones too.

Yes indeed. Very generous too. Sonic Reality is one of my favorite companies in the business.
