Uh oh...

Keyboard commands for going to the next and previous Markers are not working properly for me. Using the commands causes DP to jump randomly to Markers which are far apart in both DP 7 and now in DP 7.01.

Can someone else please confirm that this is not only on my system?

Go to Next Marker = control-shift-period
Go to Previous Marker = control-shift-comma

EDIT >>> (NOW RESOLVED)

I'm not sure if I accidently changed this or if MOTU changed the default, but in the control preferences of the Markers Window make sure that Next/Prev follows marker numbers is unchecked, otherwise DP will jump to markers in the order they were created and not necessarily in the chronological order they are now existing in the chunk.

Are you using SL? Try it in 10.5.8

I've resolved it Gary. Thank you. Please see my explanation above your post.

I suppose the good thing about having experienced this is that it got me to install 7.01, and now I have the live bite volume adjustments back again. :-) However, I did notice (and I'm sorry to hear) that you are having some troubles with 7.01... so I guess I'll find out tomorrow if it really was a blessing. I'm hitting the hay now... I've been at it all night.

Actually .... only in SL, not in 10.5.8.

I really don't think DP 7 is ready for what SL architecture is doing, no taming the SL as it were.

I loaded SL on several drives and when the problems happen they are consistent on both SL drives yet when I go back to 10.5.8 the problems ALL disappear.

And.. Im not just talking about little issues. My beloved Hypersonic2 and VG2 are messed up.
Add to that VSL on simple fader write updates change state from long notes to short notes ONLY when updating and then work correctly after the write is finished... wow! If this is the way it is, were all in for a long long history of pain using this new OS much like the OS9 to 10 implementation just to get to 64 bit.

I'm pretty unhappy with this right now and hope we can find every problem there is together. Hey maybe something in my new 2.93 8 core machine is the problem, could be. Anyway, we will see.

I must say I have been doing some intense mixing on DP7/ Snow Leopard and have not had a single problem. It has been the most rock solid combination that I've yet experienced. I'm trading projects back and forth with a friend and he can't run that combination on his non Intel machine. He had to go away from SL....but since doing that it's been solid. I hope I keep the good luck going....but so far I'm VERY happy.

You have an early '08 machine I see. Hmmm wonder why I'm dead in SL. With UAD, I can't even turn a knob in SL.

Using ‘bass line’ today I had some crackling sounds. I turned it down but it still had some and the plug-in seamed to be running hot, lots of out put even with the MIDI volume slider down and the plug-ins slider bellow 0db. It only happened when I was playing MIDI notes into it. On play back the sound was clean.

One other funny thing today, I added a graphic display for an EQ to the mixer window and I got a drum hit from EZdrummer. I played around and found a number of things that make EZdrumer play a drum hit.

I started a different thread on this specifically, but an issue I've run up against is this:

With DP 7.01 on a 8Core MacPro with 16gig ram (os 10.5.8 )

When using DAE mode, all Plugs and VIs that rely on tempo sync (stylus, omnisphere, H-Delay, etc) seem to be receiving 120bpm, no matter what. This is true using the tempo slider, the conductor track, etc.

Under MAS they function correctly, and of course the same plugs work perfectly in ProTools.

Given the fact that MOTU named dropped Stylus on their splash page for the DP7 upgrade, I'm pretty disappointed that we're still with a DAE stumbling block on this.

Anyone else know about this, and is there any known work-around?

Thanks,

Ok finally gone through my clean install of Snow Leopard. I worked all day in DP 7.01 and so far seems really solid, no crashes and much faster and reliable that what I had before. It seems like all the problems I had we probably due to have used the migration tool to get stuff from my G5 when I got my MAC Pro and then I installed SL on top of that so very prone to corrupted files and what not. So I know what not to do on my next computer upgrade.

Actually I'll take that back. Got 3 crashes this morning while recording.
and the fader bug is still there.
Which is all very strange as I haven't changed anything in my setup and I've resumed working on the same project file...

For those of you who like to put your computer to sleep for the night rather than shutting down completely, my advice is that you restart as soon as you start to experience weird behaviors in DP or after a sudden quit. Things are usually more stable upon restart.

Back in Tiger, on my G5, I could leave the Mac on for a week (and sometimes even longer) without any problems. Intel World just isn't the same.
