Okay everyone...

The "beta" versions are now posted to the main website and are official. No further changes have been made.

Thanks to everyone for the assistance testing and for your patience in waiting for a fix.

Enjoy, and rock on.

SCOTT!!!!!!!! YOU ARE THE BEST!!!!!!!!!

Seriously... Talk about above and beyond. What an incredible level of support here. On behalf of myself and the DP user community... THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!! I hope anybody who hasn't tried Stillwell plugs, demo them... and then BUY them!!! I have The Rocket and it's awesome! And seriously, we should do everything we can as users to support developers who care this much about Digital Peformer compatibility!

Hey Scott... if you're looking at this thread... I have one teensy (LOL... yeah right!) request to make.

I was trying to adjust the attack parameter on the Rocket Compressor and was having difficulty making fine adjustments using the mouse or the scroll wheel on the mouse. Is there a modifier key to hold while adjusting a parameter to be able to change it in smaller increments? I know some plugs allow you to hold down "Cntrl" for example while adjusting a parameter to make the knob move in finer steps. Alternatively, I know UA will let you click a knob then move the cursor further away from the knob and move in a concentric circle (around the actual knobs) for fine control-- the further from the knob the finer the change.

Sounds like a modifier key would be easiest. Either way, just want to again say THANK YOU for the support of we Digital Performer users and thanks so much for your kind mention of MOTUNATION and the link on your site!

Sure, I can do that.

Ctrl- or Shift-click-drag on a rotary control will move 1/10 as fast/far as a normal click-drag. Linear faders (as in Verbiage) use a different method of tracking mouse movement, so that's not gonna work there for now. Gimme a little bit to make new builds and I'll post here again when betas are ready.

Ctrl- or Shift-mousewheel should already be there, but I'm seeing some odd mouse behavior that I'm not sure is me or the Mac...it works fine on my Windows builds. Leave that alone for the moment.

More soon...

Okeydokey.

http://downloads.stillwellaudio.com/stillwell/beta/

Beat on 'em and report issues here or on my forums. I'll unlock the beta forum over there if you want to keep from cluttering up James' server.

Reminder: Shift-drag or Ctrl-drag should move things 1/10 as slowly as a normal click and drag...on controls that don't move in a straight line. Verbiage's faders will not be affected, and...hmm..probably the gain control on 1973 won't be affected. I'll have to think about how I'm going to change that...it's going to break people's expectations if I change how those controls work.

If Shift doesn't work, try Control...some hosts may not allow all modified events to pass through, which is why I've done both.

Shift and Control mousewheel SHOULD work, and if they do or don't for you, please report it...I get weird results here, even though that code's been there all along and I've had no reports of problems.

Once these are firmed up and put on the main site, I'll probably roll any changes back into the PC/Windows builds.

Thanks for all the kind words, folks...it means a lot to us.

Don't thank me. You more than earned the praise. I do hope people here on the forum give you products a try and reward this sort of responsiveness by purchasing some of these great plugs. I own and love The Rocket.

BTW, I tried the new fine controls and it's great. Also wanted to let you know about an interesting thing I noticed that's neither here nor there really but in case you find it interesting... when I downloaded the new official version of Rocket it appeared in my plug-ins list (the one that appears when I click an insert in the Mixing Board) "loose" instead of inside the "Stillwell Audio" folder/category. However, after installing the beta version, and relaunching DP, The Rocket appeared inside the "Stillwell Audio" folder.

James, I've noticed this many times with other brands of plug-ins, too. The first time I open DP after installing a new plug-in, it resides outside of the folder it should be in. After quitting DP and re-opening, the plug finds its way to the appropriate folder. I don't know why that is.

To me, it always seems like if there is only ONE plugin of a particular vendor, then it resides outside a folder. If there are multiple plugins, a folder for them appears. I just assume it is what it is and move on...there's nothing in the plugin to affect that behavior one way or the other.

Yeah, but what's weird is that I had a couple other of your Stillwell plugs (probably expired demos) in the folder already so it wasn't ever a single plug by itself. It's more like what 666 said perhaps. I've written to MOTU a number of times about how their plug-ins appear. They never appear as neatly as they do in Logic. I even wrote to them a detailed description of adding user-created categories and sorting them according to those (they'd of course need to use a prefs file for DP to keep track of it). For example, users could create categories called "Compression" "Delays" "Reverbs" and whatever made sense to the users. When you get many plugs, sorting by manufacturer isn't necessarily that useful.

Hello Scott!
I have posted on Stillwell forum in the topic nocturn novation.
Automap doesn't work with Stillwell plugins. There is no window and sometimes, DP crash.

Let me know if you want the crash report.
I have the latest version installed (february 14th).
