Maybe that should be the name of this place: Club DP. :)

I also like the look of a well-designed 3D GUI, but if the flat GUI of DP6 alleviates some of the slow redraw issues (when there's heavy CPU use) I'll gladly take it (as long as I can have my green meters back!)

Speaking of green meters, I've checked the XML files and can't find the line for the mixer meters. Does anyone know how to change the mixer meters from blue to green?

Reminds me of the Effects Rack in Electric Keys (see pic below). Worn front face handles on the multi effects unit (3rd from top)-- not to mention cooling vent. Chipped paint and missing rack screws on Lexi-looking unit at bottom. now that I look at it again, The Reverb Unit even has a front panel scratch that begins next to the Feedback knob at about the 1 o'clock position and continues up at a 45 degree angle.

Note the texture of the edges of the rack-- it looks like tolex.

I was joking with some folks at MOTU at NAMM that I wanted NEW units in my EK effects rack and not this used stuff that's all beat up!

James, you are too funny! Is that Ted Baxter in your Avatar? <grin>

BTW: (More OT) How do you like the organs in Electric Keys? Does it have a killer B3? I listened to a few of the demos and thought they sounded pretty good.

I wondered how their B3 compare to NI standalone B3.

You know what? Don't ask me. EK was an impulse purchase and I'm NOT a keyboard player by a long shot. I got it because I was planning to have a friend who is a great keyboardist come over and play on some stuff for me, but that hasn't happened. So I really can't tell ya unfortunately.

You'll have to ask somebody else here who doesn't sound like they're wearing boxing gloves when they try to play piano. :D

You might check with grimepoch. He was working on those areas AFAIK.

I think the only meters in the XML file are the ones for the Meter Bridge. I changed those back to green.

I could be wrong, but I think the mixer meters are png files, but I can't find them either.

Due to his snail connection, Monkey Man asked me to post this for him. Here is his mod:

Very Neve-like, Monkey Man via Bill F. But hey no fair - that's v.5.1x - which gives you a hea3d start :o

Thanks much, Bill F, I did do some modifying, with no apparent problems. It's got to beat ratcheting up my CRTs' color calibration profiles.

Also, James, you know the "French Horn" and Strings" in the scene in Caddyshack, where Rodney D. trashes Ted K.'s yacht? Yours truly. :D 8)

I friggin' love that look. Gotta disagree with you there Shoosh. And I think I might have to buy MOTU's Electric Keys just so that I can have that groovey stuff up on my second monitor. I just love it! :-)

Certainly wouldn't be the same without the scratches and dings. I like to try to delude myself into believing that I am playing with fantastic-sounding vintage gear. Old beats new in my books.

Hey Nicky, your mod calls irresistibly to my mind the image of poo with blueberries. But it is undeniably oddly soothing and attractive. I think you might be on to something...

:)

Kind regards.

Now that I read here that a GUI interface will be part of an upcoming DP6 update, I'm guessing there'll be an option for

Legacy Control Panel.

It's just such a compact, concise and clear way of seeing the important stuff.

What I'd like is one of those keyboards you are using as your avatar, tommymandel. Bet there's not a sound you couldn't create with that baby. :P
