One of the reasons downloading music has become such a NO NO is that it has eaten to the profits of the 'record companies' not so much the artist.

This where Trent Reznor is very smart, he takes out the middle man, the 'company' and sells, gives away his product and HE IS STILL AHEAD.

I'm, not saying that works for everyone BUT the model can if you work hard enough.

Also the event of home recording has taken away the power from them as well but there is so much more product out there that it becomes harder and harder to get heard.... hence the live gig aspect.

As I said before, the goal posts are changing and there is not much you can do at this point it seems.

Where does this leave us....
