this is on the MOTU website:

"Mac OS X Leopard (10.5) ships October 26, 2007. Are your MOTU software and hardware products going to be compatible? Absolutely. MOTU has been working closely with Apple to ensure a smooth transition for your MOTU products when you make the move to Leopard."

Right... and if you read the page, they tell you that their VIs are all compatible, but OTHER MOTU software (aka Digital Performer) is still undergoing final testing for Leopard.

MIDI Life Crisis wrote: DANG JAMES! DP 5.11 works in Leopard!!! Now isn't THAT interesting! And I can stop rebooting into Tiger :) (which always crashes Leopard EVERY TIME!).

So the fix to DP might not be so bad after all. That is very promising, indeed.

Thanks for posting that Mr. Moderator!

<scratching his head as he leaves... 'hmmm... DP 5.11 works in Leopard. I'll be a monkey's ass...' >
Just to mention this again (if it helps anyone else), I have been running 5.11 and haven't had any problems with Leopard. I've been importing and exporting, making changes to fades, etc. I haven't recorded anything yet but I just wanted to mention these things.

I never upgraded to 5.12 because 5.11 seemed to stable. It seems even more so now.

GENTS... and maybe ladies... IT WORKS!

5.11 works fine.

I almost died today... when I couldn't record with 5.12... after an infinite number of tries (from un-installing to re-installing to re-installing Leopard...) finally.. thanks to you WONDERFUL people... IT WORKS!

5.11 is the answer!

THANK YOU THANK YOU!

I can't take the credit... I read it on the MOTU-MAC email list. Someone else posted this. It's a stop-gap until the next version of DP comes out. I'm betting MOTU will have the *officially* Leopard-compatible release within a week or two. They're historically pretty good about this stuff.

Fantastic! It's going to be matter of days for MOTU to release the 5.11 update then!

Chuckle... chuckle. Seriously though, I'd get back with the post-5.12 program as soon as I could if you're on Leopard, because MOTU changed the way files are saved in 5.12.

In the meantime, I'm one of the people using Leopard and DP 5.11 but at present can only get it to record audio. The MIDI is not working. I'm using MIDI express 128. Any suggestions?

What is your hardware? PPC ? Intel? RAM? Latest MIDI driver from MOTU?

My suggestion is that you tell us what your driving. But chances are when you fin ally get the DP 5.13 (assuming that's what they're calling it) it will have a new driver(s) as well. Again, that is at a level of computing that escapes me (deep internals).

I'm running a dual 2.5 PCC with 4 GB ram and use MIDI express 128. Yes, my problem is that I cannot get MIDI to record with Leopard and DP 5.11 although audio records fine. Any advice?

Have you checked to see if your Audio/MIDI setup is configured correctly? Can you SEND to MIDI devices? Does Audio/MIDI test out OK (test mode)?

AudioMIDI does not work properly

It's funny that someone mention trying test mode in Audio MIDI Setup when running DP5.11 with Leopard. The test mode in Audio MIDI does not work on my system! The mouse pointed does not work while in test mode. I can't "touch" anything on the screen when in test mode

At this point, I'm perfectly happy booting into Tiger and running DP 5.12 over there! I'm just answering a question that someone asked about Audio MIDI setup. :?

So DP5.11 works? Is there a way I can download a "down"date patch? Since I just bought DP5 a few months back, I'm pretty sure that the version I got was 5.12. It exhibits all the problems you guys are talking about, anyway.

Am I the only one who is having problems with Audio MIDI setup? Even when I started from scratch, the TEST button does not work. It's supposed to turn into a 16th note, it doesn't change. I suppose this is a Leopard Issue, not a MOTU DP issue.
