msi is fooked, from what i can tell. if i install the AU version only, dp skips it on the scan, and leaves a note in the au inspection log: "use the MAS version". so, if i install the MAS version, it simply never shows up, because afaik, the MAS version isn't intel compat...
this is latest and greatest, 1.1.2.

anyone else having this problem?
this is on a fresh install, btw. the au works fine in metro ub.

Just so we have all the pertinent info conveniently present in one thread, I thought I'd post the current Altiverb version here, though I posted it in a thread about DP 5.1 crashing with Altiverb. I updated my copy of Altiverb a few weeks ago to v5.4.4, but that's now two versions in the past. The current version is:

August 02, 2006 - Altiverb 5.4.6, and you can download it HERE.

By the way, I see no indication that this will run natively on an Intel-Mac. The words "Universal Binaries" or "UB" do not appear anywhere on the Audio-Ease site that I can find. Maybe someone else will fill us in on that. But if you want to run Altiverb in DP 5.1 on a PPC machine, you will still need the update, so there it is.

5.1 is rocking over here.. old projects load fine, TTD plugs work, everything smooth... This is the update that will make me forget about 4.61

To add to the mix: MAS versions of Antares Auto Tune 4 are crashing DP 5.1. The latest AU version is loading fine however.

I find the stability reports encouraging-- thanks, folks. (I'll be watching for follow-ups....)

Special thanks to e'loo for driving the point home-- and to Shooshie for the updated update link of Altiverb.

Now, if only the rest of my VIs were UB-ready...

In the meantime, I'm at least thrilled that August is here-- that means preseaon football!! :P

Uh-oh... Now you guys are tempting me to update to a new crashing version! :P
IT DOES NOT CRASH IF YOU FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS.

Sorry for yelling, but the "read me" says to update your Audioease Plug-ins. The read me is shown to you first thing as you start the installer.

If you don't it will crash. If you do update the Audioease plug-ins all is well.

So please do not spread the FUD about DP 5.1.

Sorry, but you have misunderstood me. I was referring to an earlier post in the thread that I made. DP5 unexpectedly quits on me for no apparent reason. But I still use it because it's better optimized than DP4. So my remark was referring to that and not any VSTWrapper issues since I hadn't installed 5.1 at the time to notice any crashing. :P

I was making a joke because it is possible that DP5.1 could also suffer from "unexpectedly quit" syndrome. I hope it doesn't seeing as I have installed it earlier this evening. It's too early to tell but I have good experience with the problem to at least provide me the motivation to crack the joke. ;)

Not without requiring a dongle.

Oh, sooner or later, don't we all submit to the dongle. Prom, honeymoon, pledge week, lodge initiation...

A question for those with 5.1:

An issue I have with DP5.x has to do with plugin rendering. In 5.x, making moves in the pitch automation window results in an audible (though temporary) audio glitch right after making the move. Very annoying. 4.61 does not do this. Has this been fixed in 5.1?

Thanks...

Autotune crashes it for me.
I'm very happy that 5.01 is still working fine.
I'll stay there for a while.

Emulatorloo, Phlak, Mr.Clifford, Bone.China:

Misunderstanding: I‘m running 5.1 on a MBPro. I don‘t have any Altiverb
or VST Wrapper. It just keeps crashing after a while, regardless if the song‘s just opened or if i‘m doing things, e.g. editing, saving project etc.
(The performance, in the short time it‘s running, is impressive though).
