bx_meter: Another no brainer. Thanks. It's the plugin silly season again.

bx_meter works great EXCEPT in Logic Pro X under Sierra. The AU plugin doesn't pass authentication in that scenario. It works just fine in other DAWs, including DP, even under Sierra. It seems to just be the Logic/Sierra combination that's a problem. I contacted Plugin Alliance and they confirmed the problem. They are working on a fix.

I've not bitten (yet?) so I've not seen the download.
Does the download come zipped? If so, try expanding it with Keka.app (freeware). There's a decompression bug in Sierra and this works when that is the issue. I've used it with PSP, IK and Eventide files to get them to work correctly in OS 10.12.

I've sent the bug to an Apple engineer who tells me it's been escalated. Hopefully there'll be a fix in the next OS release.

This meters plugin is one of the less sexy offers I've seen here. It certainly seems to make up for a lack of metering options in DP - or have I missed something? (I have only seen the Meter Bridge so far. I am still quite new to DP.)
[EDIT] - I just realized this is the famous TT Dynamic Range Meter now on steroids. Purchased!
[EDIT2] - Also picked up the
Klanghelm VUMT VU meters for just under 9 dollars USD.

The fact that it runs fine in other DAWs under Sierra leads me to believe it's not a decompression bug. Plugin Alliance actually has a statement about it not working in Logic under Sierra on their website (
https://www.plugin-alliance.com/en/support.html).
General Information: What can I do if I already updated to macOS Sierra?
Users who work with the Audio Unit format, primarily in Logic Pro, are most affected by the incompatibility. Certain AU users that have had similar problems with other plugin manufacturers in the past discovered potential workarounds that can be found by searching the online Apple forums.

That above link is perhaps truncated? Doesn't work.

The easiest way to get away from truncated URL issues is to write some text, select it, hit the URL button to surround it with the URL tags, enter an equal sign after the first "URL" before the bracket and then paste in the actual URL. That way it never truncates.
Code: Select all
Step 1: This is a link
Step 2: [url]This is a link[/url]
Step 3: [url=]This is a link[/url]
Step 4: [url=http://www.motunation.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=59916&p=535004#p535005]This is a link[/url]
Result:
This is a link
Alternatively, you could use the link URL as the link text:
Code: Select all
[url=http://www.motunation.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=59916&p=535004#p535005]http://www.motunation.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=59916&p=535004#p535005[/url]
Which effectively is the same thing as simply encapsulating the URL between URL tags, by first selecting the URL you pasted into the post, followed by hitting the URL button:
Code: Select all
[url]http://www.motunation.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=59916&p=535004#p535005
[/url]
Result:
viewtopic.php?f=26&t=59916&p=535004#p535005

By the way...
A big thanks to Rick Cornish - his finds have been really fantastic, and have saved me a ton of money, along with enlightening me to some companies and products I did not know existed at all!
Thank you, Rick!

So you didn't test it? Too bad—someone should see if I'm right or not.
While I appreciate the logic of your statement (no pun intended), the unzip bug affects very little of the file.. It may only be a single line of code in some cases. The icons are good; installers start up and go through the paces before errors appear. License files appear to be good but don't work etc.
I have plenty of meters so I'm not likely to buy another.

Using Keka made no difference. It still won't authenticate in Logic under Sierra.

Thanks for checking. I wasn't planning to spend the $9 just to see what it would do in Logic.
This did get me to thinking, however. Masterwriter 2 wasn't working—in fact, I have already paid for the subscription to MW 3 because of this. In this case, MW 2 downloaded and installed but I got a missing files error when I tried to open. My wife's copy still works in Sierra. Hmmmm... Anyway, I just downloaded the MW2 installer, unzipped using Keka.app and reinstalled. Now it works just fine. Had I known, could have saved myself some green.

I tested it too. See post above. It made no difference.
