That always been my theory too, two different sets of people in two different rooms as far apart as Italy and New Zealand :)

The truth is that who designed DP6 and the Masterwork-EQ, is the same person:
http://www.stretta.com/~matthew/works.html

But he designed the DP plugin interfaces long ago… snip … I can see DP6 and the bundled synths being from the same person. The MW EQ is another story, though he designed it, too.
Really? Well, I honestly can't see any similarities between DP6 overall picture and Masterworks, Leveler, Proverb, Nanosampler, Modulo etc for example. :?

On plugs there's more freedom as you wrote, that's absolutely correct. But about the DP6's arbitrary changes that has been made, seems to me just the result of a long debate between different school of thought, where the compromise consequence hasn't been the best GUI anyone would expect … a sort of bad frankenformer.

In fact - thanks to amplidood - here we are playing with different great mods just to change that GUI that is (to be politically correct) "not very nice"

At this stage what does amaze me most though, is the amplidood speed on changing mods vs the still reaction fm MOTU about this subject, since the complaints started more than a year ago. So, or amplidood is DaVinci related - and I'm starting to think he's :D - or for whichever reason there's some big issue about be ready on changing in a near future this GUI.

I don't know if MOTU ever acknowledged that their new GUI is a bit on the harsh side. That would explain why nothing's done about it. With the speed of DP7's update I think the GUI thingy would have been addressed a long time ago if they wanted too...

There are no instructions with the icons? Hm, maybe you got an older version.

1 Double click the .png to open in Preview
2 Select all, copy
3 "Get Info" on the modded DP app
4 Click the icon area at the top of the Get Info window
5 Paste, close get info window

I'm 99% sure they know very well about their DP user base GUI feedback. Don't you think some MOTU guy read this board?
I do :)

Obviously they have their own priority. In a balance they preferred to repair some very old ones to give to DP7 the v5 stability instead changing colors, which was probably a good choice, and they made it. In fact now DP7 works great.

We'll see what will happen in the future, NAMM is close … I'm ready to be astonished

Like I said in my post I don't think they ACKNOWLEDGED the issue. It's obvious that they are aware of it as they probably received a gazillion complaints but as long as they don't acknowledge it publicly they don't HAVE to fix it. I remember someone on this board saying that fixing is admitting their wrong. There's no fix if there's no problem...

With everything ADood did, I'm wondering if it could be better for me as it is now anyways so I don't care. I'm just a bit nervous about my GUI being future-proof...

Who turned off the lights i the control room?????? haha,

Awesome Amplidood!!!!

A lill question, I do not use the Night cuz the marker appears in dark blue on black in the transport bar... I can´t read it. Could you make it the same colour as the measures, beats etc?

Your enthusiastic support makes me smile. Love it.

Those fonts and colors I have not found a way to change, yet. It's the same with the large counter. It's coded somewhere and I may not be able to get at it. If you use the standard Night setup, the markers will be visible.

Sorry :(

Most things that I can't do anything about I suspect live in the .dylib files that are the true guts of DP. That's all compiled code. I don't know how to reverse engineer, and honestly I think MOTU would take notice of that happening. And not in a kind way.

Don´t feel sorry. I´m not complaining, really. I guess you struggled with that one.

Suggestions:
Flower Power GUI
Country GUI
Rainbow GUI
Metall GUI

Just for your inspiration :)

A cool hack could be to draw small triangles at the exact same spot but on the glare file or on the counter window file...
