the WAVES bundles are sold in TDM and NATIVE (i think).
Which one is better? Whats the difference?
TDM is for use with Pro Tools only. Native is the version that works with everything else.

i believe you want the native bundle.
native as in native for mac.
i don't have dp 4.5 yet so i can't vouch for its performance with it.
let me just say again that in my experience the waves plugs do wonders for my source material, so does the uad card but, to my humble ears, waves plugs, particularly the masters bundle, make a huge difference.
as many have suggested, download the demos and see for yourself.
good luck!

My advice is to try before you buy and let your ears be the judge. There are a lot of companies that allow full demo use for 10 or more days. The PCI and firewire units like the UAD-1 and POCO are another story. You might be able to have them demoed to you at a music store in your neighborhood. I own the UAD-1, Waves Gold Bundle, PSP, Elemental Audio, and WaveArts just to name a few. What I have found is that they each are "the Right Plug" under the "right condition." It is all about "in context."

I am currently looking to purchase Neodynium and UAD-1's Precision limiter. I have not heard a lot of talk about Neodynium but I think it is a very unusual approach to compression and folks will soon start embracing it. Make sure you take the time to check it out.

Hi,
i use the UAD Studio Pak wich sounds great. The Pultec EQ is crispy, sweet and fluffy. And the camebridge EQ also sounds great. This card is worth a look/hear.
Just read a test between camebridge and Oxford EQ. Both sound great...
The powercore is nice and got much more PlugIns to offer, but these PlugIns are expensive. The UAD comes with a nice package for a good price. The small Projekt Pak comes with nice ones to and you can buy single PlugIns for ... mmhhh ... i think about 250 •‚¬.
Good Luck and good sound ;·)

Excuse my bad english, i‘m just a german.
DP 9.12 // MacPro 8-Core 2,26 // OSX 10.11.6 // 32 GB RAM // UAD-2 // PSP // Sonnox // 828 MK-II // Altiverb 6 // MachFive 2 // iZotope // ...

Excuse my bad english. I´m just a german.

My 2 cents:
UAD-1 you can't go wrong! They sound amazing, and the Company is very responsive & helpful. They come out with new plugs all the time and charge usually $150. Totally worth it when you hear the quality. They build (and designed the originals) so they get 98% close to it. I have 2 cards, 1 was not enough 'cause you can never have enough Pultecs and 1176's.

My question: has anyone tried the Nomad Factory Blue Tubes bundle? It appears to run on DP (though there is conflicting info on their reseller's site). I've heard that their sutff compares sonically quality-wise with WAVES. Free trials and _reasonable_ (roughly $400 for the bundle) prices.

I have the Blues Bundle and it is not at all like waves, It's a lot more analog and I personally use it as much as I can. They are coming out with a new version soon, so you should definitly try the Demo. I will update as soon as it's availlable.

I have contacted MOTU on which plugins would be best and they advised me to the TC POWERCORE FIREWIRE plug in bundles, which runs on its own processing.
Anyone have this? Anyone use this? Anyone like this?

Help me out since I'm used to the OLD way of OUTBOARD gear.
Hey Wonder

Just test your ears on these demos. Your ears are the best judge. Take your time to audition.

I have two UAD cards and the Powercore Firewire... after using both for some time, I have gone to the UAD more often than the Powercore. Not because the powercore doesn't sound great, but because I just love those 1176's. I can say that they (the plug-in versions) are very authentic because I own a hardware 1176 as well. The Powercore, on the other hand, has the best reverb IMHO of the two. You really can't go wrong with either of them. They're both great units.
