I wonder if the same thing could be done for Alpha’s rival, Fader port?

Today I was testing a new Alpha Track control surface bundle while running DP 8.04 in both 32-bit AND 64-bit modes! I reported a bug to the programmer that was causing some crashes. That has been fixed. I'm hoping the programmer gives me the go ahead to share the link where you can purchase and download it soon! I decided against trying to run a kickstarter. Too much hassle. He's just going to sell it directly at a price that he feels is fair and will hopefully compensate him adequately given that this may be something with a limited market: DP users running a discontinued (albeit very useful) hardware controller.

Stay tuned! Just wanted you to know it exists! I've run AlphaTrack myself today in DP in 64-bit mode!!!

Dewd - I've asked the programmer if he'd be interested in more work. If he says he'd do Transport too either James or I will absolutely put you in touch with him.

If/when you do, I suggest you do so with a little less desperation as to not scare him off. :|

with all due respect the only reason I may have appeared annoying to you is because you flatly told me privately you were not going to ask him. Yes we are desperate. He's the guy to do it and you were hoarding the resource I should dare say. Chill.

I don't own a transport and therefore have no reason to pursue it. Out of respect for the programmer I tracked down I've asked him if it's ok to put you in touch with him. If so, I'll gladly pass on his info to you. I wasn't trying to attack you, and was simply trying to up your odds of him being interested.

Your chill hoarder,

Cody

HOLD ON!! What did I tell you PUBLICLY??? I said we would. We did. Actually Cody did as I saw the emails so ease up! The guy wants to tackle Tranzport next and probably will. He has what he needs to do it. Probably not necessary for anyone to contact him. He'll just put it up for online purchase when it's done.

I supported this approach because I felt presenting a request to work on multiple devices would scare him off. It was actually AFTER he worked on AlphaTrack that he seemed more interested in Tranzport. I maintain that it was handled the way it should have been, and asking for too much too early could have jeopardized everything. As I said, I'm pretty sure Tranzport will be coming. It should be easier than AlphaTrack.

See if he wants to do PreSonus Fader Port too. and even fix some bugs in AVID Artist Mix. A nice little side income for him! He could be the “DP guy” that fixes incompatible drivers.

In the meantime, DP users should reconsider putting their AlphaTracks on eBay. :)
