Re: How many people here find DP 8.01 to be crash-prone?

Hi all - for what its worth: I find DP8.01 to be *both* very crash prone, or basically stable. To explain:
I'm a relatively new DP user (only since the last 7 version) but am across a number of other DAWs long term on Mac OS X. In my experience, unlike many other DAWs, DP8.01 does not forgive 'hunt and peck' very well. If you do not know the app and click about trying things out, or trying to work by intuition /approaches from other DAWs, it will go down in a heap quickly and frequently - heaven knows I had many, many auto-report errors going off to MOTU. [That's on OS X 10.8.2, 8 core Mac Pro etc).
As I have become more familiar with the operations /expectations & key commands for DP8, guess what? Is now increasingly 'stable'. It suffers fools like me very lightly! I do however find this in stark contrast to other DAWs that are far more forgiving of the inexperienced. With DP, RTFM, training videos and this forum do wonders in this respect ...
So perhaps this may have something to do with it & with the expertise of beta testers, Magic Dave and otherwise knowledgeable seasoned users – they already know the app & its workflow expectations very well. If anything, DP needs work on bullet-proofing it from incorrect mousing, clicking and new users. Having said this, I do find a couple of constant bugs - especially in relation to the use of video memory, screen re-draws and QT. 64bit is a big code leap. MOTU will sort it I'm sure & the next couple of more major revs (beyond a '0.1') should really improve matters.
