Yeah... I'm in the same boat only I WON'T be paying $129 for this plug. Just can't justify it. :(

And I think I am THAT boat as well, JS.

Well...I downloaded the demo, so at least for right now that's the case until I try it and then con myself into having to have it.

I was in that boat, too, but along came a bunch of those "no-brainer" deals, and even THAT boat sunk.

Seriously folks, this plugin is worthy. I think you might take a shot at telling SoundToys that you hadn't been aware of the freebie and you would like the opportunity to get Devil-Loc Deluxe for $49. Surely they would budge, especially if mention was made of the discussion in this forum.

I could try to contact them, but James or someone else might have more clout.

I was sure I could easily pass on this plugin, but now I am using it in everything. You could certainly live without it, but if you had it you would probably discover that you are very happy to have it.

Sorry. We ran it for 18 days and it was just a limited time special, just like the limited time upgrade.

Thanks,

Hello!

I was out of town when your offer for the free Devil-Loc was out which resulted in the $49 upgrade to Devil-Loc Deluxe. All my colleagues on the Digital Performer forum are raving about the plug and I would like to purchase, but is there any way to get in on the free-to-$49 upgrade price still?

Thanks for great products!

Chris

That's a bummer Chris. Really sorry about that.

I fail to understand why they would want to cut people out like that. They made it a little difficult to grab the freebie download as well. No one really likes jumping through hoops to try something out.

I totally love their products, but they have some strange ways of doing business. Finally they have added PayPal to their payment options, however. I complained about the absence of that a couple of times over the past few years. Now you can pay that way.

Anyways... don't be too disheartened... there will probably still be an opportunity to get this at some point.

You could add my name to the list as one who would have liked to get this on an extended offer, but after reading that hard a** reply from sound toys :brucelee: I guess I could live without it. Especially since I don't know what I'm missing.

Here was my reply:

Thanks for your consideration, Mitch. I will post your reply on the Digital Performer forum as there are other members who were hoping to get in on the same deal. They will be duly informed.

That is of course their right. So it's my right to keep my $129 in my pocket during a recession and not send it to SoundToys. Instead of $49, they get nothing.

I hate to admit it, but this is my feeling on it as well. I am usually passive about such things, but it seems that other companies may be a little more flexible. But you're right, in the end it is their prerogative.

Hey folks,

I just sent a plea to SoundToys to do something to help you folks out. I'm not sure that my request will make any difference, but I did give them the link to this thread, so maybe just maybe they will make a special consideration.

If not, so be it. But I wanted to see if I could help make it happen for you.

For anyone interested, they are taking pre-registration information for the upcoming Juice plugin, so if you want to be among the first to play with it, sign up now: https://www.soundtoys.com/beta/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Well that's cool. I understand they have to do what makes sense for them and I understand the "limited time" offer thing. Obviously they feel that $129 is a fair price for the plug and they very may well be right. On the other hand, as just another consumer, that price point doesn't necessarily make sense for me at this time. Those are just economic realities, not a commentary as to whether the plug in is "worth it" or not. April is a month where I have to sit down and write a large check for the mortgage, property taxes, and income taxes. Plug ins aren't even on the radar in April. :)

Here's my point of view...I got in on the free version. I played around with it, and it can be fun, I guess. Realistically, there was nothing in the freebee that would make me want to upgrade; even for 49 bucks. It's just not something that I find to be useful.

I understand everyone has different reasons for using the plugs they do. I feel no loss whatsoever for not upgrading.
