Can't go to Leopard because I have Native Instruments VI's that won't run
on PPC/Leopard.

Oh well - let's see, can't use the themes, redraw of merged soundbites is
still a bit slow - other than that, I'm good..I'll live. The contextual menus, etc., aren't features I need or would use anyway.
Oh well. :( One feature also is the support for OSC and MOTU is going to release a iPhone app for remote control of DP that will probably only work with 7.2 or later.

I ran the DP 7.2 installer on my G5 with 10.4.11, and while I did see the warning message, I was able to hit Continue; the installer progressed as expected and completed ostensibly without any problems. I gave DP 7.2 a spin and it appears to be fine, so it would seem that there are at least not any immediately catastrophic issues with 10.4.11.

Regarding this text from the PDF...

Can anyone think of an existing behaviors which utilizes clicking while holding the Control key?

I can't think of any action that I perform that requires this. Especially since control-clicking didn't work prior to today... hmm…
Yes, CONTROL-CLICK is a very important feature in DP. For all the graphic editing windows, CONTROL-DRAG is the proportional drag. You can do amazing things with that! Not a feature you want to give up once you use it.

I notice one of the new themes looks like the dreaded Cubase.

The themes feature could be nice for dynamically switching based on lighting conditions, clients, etc.

Looks like their might be a ProTools theme in there too, for fooling clients.

Anyone notice that once you change the Theme the splash screen also changes to the new theme. Eye candy, but very nice touch...

Yes, for Throwing Soundbites in the S.E. Believe me, I use it so frequently that at this point that I don't even think about the keys I'm actually pressing. :D

(couldn't think of one for the T.O. so that had me a bit stumped. That one is subtle)

A real bummer, I just discovered that Melodynes' piano roll (grey horizontal) lines don't appear.

Can someone verify this for me?

I am running an Intel w/10.5.8
Thanks,
Dan

EDIT
it is not DP or Melodyne it is something weird with my monitor or second video card.

Did you already do the latest Melodyne update from earlier this week?

Very encouraging. Please keep us updated on how DP works for you!
Would like to install the update but really need to know if it work without any problems. For me it´s not the right timing to update from Tiger to another OSX. Got to many projects going on that need DP stability.

Hope springs eternal! I'll try tonight on my Tiger/DP7.0x partition and keep my Tiger/DP7.12 partition as-is, just in case.

mhschmieder,,,
I am using 1.1.8 and logged into my celemony account and there are no updates for me.

How weird, I am using three identical Samsung monitors and have been since about three years ago,, but when I move the Melodyne window to either of the other monitors it's fine... how weird is that?

Onto discussing the new DP7.2
sorry guys... :)
