Sounds like it makes sense to do a single install after everything is downloaded, as there are some cross-references between Kontakt Instruments, libraries, etc.
Yes, and from what I read (unless I'm mistaken) there will be some sort of "fix-it" file to come as well. I'm on a different computer now and can't recall exactly what will be "fixed", but it will be nice to to all those installs at one time.

Going to NAMM, er ya? :P

This was a very generous group buy, indeed.
And Squids just announced that for our patience he is now giving us 50 Impulse Responses instead of just 25. Very nice! :-)
mhschmieder wrote:I notice there's a brush kit and am anxious to try that. One can never have too many brush kits, and they are so rare.
Not perhaps the kind of brush kit you would expect. There are some brush drags on the iMap snare roll notes (F#1 and A#1), but it is not really your typical sounding kit. The brushed toms sound really good though... even though they sound more like they were hit with a stick than a brush.

As long as you have all the kits downloaded from Phase 1 and Phase 2, there will be no missing cross-references when you get to the hybrid kits in Phase 3.

As for installation of the libraries it is the simplest thing in the world. You simply open up the application "Infinite Library Installer" (which should be installed in your applications folder after you have installed Infinite Player). And then all you do is drag the drum kit ZIPs onto the installer window. You can drag ALL of them at the same time if you want to. The Library installer will ask you to locate your Infinite Library folder and then BAM, it installs everything for you.

Then you're ready to play and have fun... :-)

Obviously I had to copy these to an external drive one by one after downloading and delete them from my internal drive (only 3.5 GB spare, and nothing that can be deleted -- literally).

So I want to make sure, since the program of course sits on the internal drive, that dragging all the files at once to the library installer, isn't going to try to copy anything (or much) to the system drive. Otherwise I'd better do these one at a time...

It will ask you to locate your Infinite Player Library folder. It will install everything in whatever folder (on whatever drive) you select. Once you have selected the folder, the rest of the library installations will automatically be installed in the same folder while the installer application is still open. You can test it first with one or two kits if you need the extra assurance. :-)

Thanks.

I hope the "location" is clearly described, unlike with Play libraries where I ALWAYS have to go back with PListEdit Pro and modify things afterwards, since it's so unclear how many levels of indirection are needed for the base library specification (that is, what assumptions are tagged onto the directory path that you provide).

It was a good one indeed. (and you can still get it for a very limited time, using the link I updated on the page one of this thread). I just updated the first page of this thread for any new people who might stumble upon it. But I will include the gist of what I wrote here for those of you who are still following this thread from before...

This month there is a sequel to that Group Buy which you can check out here:

The Ultimate Studio Drums Bundle II: The Sequel
http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?ProductID=4181

This Group Buy has already reached the lowest price of $99, and is actually coming to a close on Tuesday, March 30th. So if you are interested in joining and want all the freebies and bonus kits, now would be the time.

Good value for the money. Lots of nice stereo kits and 4 bonus Multitrack kits which you can choose from a list of 10. Other bonuses too, including some hybrid kits combining kit pieces from both the Group Buys for those who have bought both.

Not much interest in this topic on Motunation, but I'll give one more push for the benefit of those who haven't seen this thread.

GB ends on Friday, so you still have a couple of days left. Already hit 524 participants.

Here's a recap of what you get for $99 bucks:
Squids wrote:25 drum kits:

NDV STm Mapx Kit Stick
NDV Roto STm Kit
NDV Timbale STm Kit
Jerry Marotta STm Kit Yam
Jerry Marotta STm Kit Brush
Ed Greene STm Kit 1
Ed Greene STm Kit 2
Danny Gottlieb STm Kit
John Blackwell Yam STm Stick
Bill Bruford STm Kit
Progressive Roto STm Kit
Hot Timbale STm Kit
RingBeat STm Kit
Retro Soul STm Kit
Classic Rock STm Kit
British Rock STm Kit
Bonzo Hand STm Kit
Big Band Jazz STm Kit
Coplnd Octabon STm Kit
Weck Yam STm Kit
Chamber STm Kit
Drum Doc RGS STm Kit 1
Drum Doc RGC STm Kit 2
Mower Black Beauty STm Kit

But what will REALLY make this special is that not only will the Sequel have another 25 Hybrid Kits that mix and match the above but if just 200 people are reached (1/4 of the level the first one got to) then everyone who bought Ultimate Studio Bundle 1 AND this Bundle 2 will get a stellar 50 more Hybrid kits that mix and match between BOTH bundles... and these are some of the best sounding kits ever because they really cherry pick amongst a diverse variety.
Plus 5 additional Multitrack kits. From the mouth of Squids:
Squids wrote:Friday April 2nd at 5pm it will be officially over. You have a little more time as Reverend said to reach 500 people which will get you an additional Multitrack kit plus we'll just go full throttle and get you the following:

• Not only do you get 1,000 MIDI files in GM and iMap from Groove Monkee but you'll also get additional Squidi MIDI iMap files including the previous released ones AND double the amount or more in new ones!

• I had mentioned that it was possible to get up o 150 impulse responses in this group buy through the number of people joined. There was already going to be 75 of them anyway but if you hit 500 or more then we'll get you the full 150 ADDITIONAL impulse responses (they are ALL new and previously unreleased... so yes these are 150 that DIDN'T come with the last group buy and YES they can also work with other convolution reverbs since like last time we're going to give you the waves unencrypted).

• You get to pick a FIFTH Multitrack kit (again each of these kits is normally $50 each a la carte so getting to pick FIVE as a bonus is pretty amazing!). If you don't already have the Infinite Player then you can have THAT for free (also normally sells for $50 on its own) as one of your choices instead of a Multitrack kit (in that case you'd get FOUR Multitrack Kits + Infinite Player - which is required to be able to play all of these sounds in Kontakt/Kontakt Player). Yes, this is done through our redeem code system on DownloadableSoundz.com but this time you don't have to do anything to link the accounts anymore... you can simply just login to DownloadableSoundz.com now using your esoundz login and password and enjoy the benefits of the additional sound content for download etc. plus you can use your epointz there.

I know that's the wordy version so here's the summary version:

IF we reach 500 or more you get:

• 1,000 GM and iMap MIDI grooves courtesy of Groove Monkee
• Over 100 Squidi MIDI iMap grooves
• A choice of FIVE Drum Masters 2 Multitrack kits from a choice of 10 - OR - you can alternatively choose FOUR kits + Infinite Player (if you don't already have it)

I joined The Ultimate Studio Drums Bundle II: The Sequel GB a week or so ago. Is that the one you're talking about, Zed? I've never used that site before and I'm wondering how I get the product. There's nothing in my download area. Maybe it's just not ready yet? I dunno. That place confuses me for some reason.

Yep, that's it. You're in. And if you haven't purchased the first bundle, it is also going to cease being available at the end of the week (and it has those Ocean Way Drums which don't need the Ocean Way Player).

Stuff will be added to your member's download area on eSoundz.com. The download page is yours, specifically with downloads available for everything you have purchased. I still have downloads available on my page which are from 5 years ago.

This GB contents haven't been added yet, though Squids says they are aiming to do that tonight. But I wouldn't count on that. There are often delays and unforeseen circumstances. It will show up over the next few days, I imagine. Maybe check before you go to bed tonight. If they are there, you can set it to download while you sleep. :-)

[Cranky mode on] I guess it must get easier after you've done a few of these, but right now I'm finding this entire process (and their instructions) extremely confusing, frustrating, and overly convoluted. One would have to try very hard to make it any more so. I hope it's worth the hassle and time, but right now it sure isn't feeling like it. [Cranky mode off]

Yeah. Certainly easier if you have done it before. You are not the only one who complains about this.

Basically, the bulk of what you ordered should be in your Member's area (under the Orders Tab) at eSoundz.com.

On that same page in your Member's area you will also get download codes which have to redeemed at DownloadableSoundz.com, which is where you will be able to choose Infinite Player, if you need it, and your bonus MT kits. That is the main part which I recall being complicated. You have to get Infinite Player and then install it through NI Service Center in order to use the drum kits.

I didn't actually join this latest Group Buy, but I was following the KVR thread and I believe some folks didn't get everything put into their download areas today, and that they would get their stuff tomorrow.

Let me know if you have any specific questions and I can try to answer from memory. :-)

Zed,

Except for Kontakt 4 which I already have, I downloaded everything in my download section Thursday night. When I reloaded the page on Friday evening, they had added the MIDI Loops and the Studio Spaces so I downloaded those, too. But what also appeared were these red check marks next to some (not all) of the items I had already downloaded. I have no idea what they mean. Do you know?

I redeemed my code and got into the Phase 3 page where I can select the extra kits. I know I need the Infinite Player, and that means I can select 4 kits from a list of 10. Do you know if they have demo clips of these 10 kits? It's kind of hard to choose without hearing them.

Below are some screenshots in case I'm not making any sense.

Also, can you give me a link to that KVM thread? I looked on there but I can't find a recent one.

I think my biorhythms are off or something. Not my night.

Thank you. I very much appreciate the help.

Those red check marks are supposed to indicate which products you have already downloaded. But they are completely unreliable and inconsistent... so they tell you nothing unfortunately. Just ignore them.

Since they are all part of the Drum Masters 2 collection, you can find them among the audio clips on this page:
http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?ProductID=4234" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If you need further clips, you might try searching for the kit names on the eSoundz site, but hopefully link above will give you a good idea of which are your 4 favorites.
Dan Worley wrote:Also, can you give me a link to that KVM thread? I looked on there but I can't find a recent one.
Yep. It is this one, already on page 83:
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... start=1215" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I'm awaiting the opportunity to buy this kit, which will be available in the middle of April:
http://www.youtube.com/user/sonicrealit ... hMiizKPCVU" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Have fun with your new kits! Maybe you can build an "ultimate kit" and have it available full-time in Bidule. ;-)
