I'm going back to DP 6.02. 6.03 is crashing my new Mac 48 Core QuadTriplet "SuperSmoker", even though I have 4000 GB of RAM.
Hey, uh...what year is this again?

It's a little bit awkward time for MOTU to announce this BPM project when DP is in the state it's in.

6.01 works almost flawlessly for me. Just as good as 5.13, if not better, so I can't really understand what state that would be.beautypill wrote:It's a little bit awkward time for MOTU to announce this BPM project when DP is in the state it's in.

Maybe the issues aren't that widespread.
That said I wouldn't mind them at least announcing a 6.1 at NAMM

You probably want a 6.02 first to make it stable but it is already stable for me so I'd go straight to 6.1, thanks

At first I saw that and said, "What's the complaint about 20C? That's great." Then I saw the minus sign. Ouch! Makes Massachusetts sound warm.wylie1 wrote:I'm hoping any day now but I'm also hoping for warmer weather its -20c here today.

How cold is it? It's colder than the reception to the 6.0 GUI!

Re: Any news on 6.02?
Hey hey, so I was at NAMM today and I casually leaned over to one of the MOTU "dudes" during a demo and said "Hey, so when is there gonna be an update that fixes all the NI incompatibilities(with G5), etc. because my •••• keeps crashing"...or something like that. He replied "In the next several (?) weeks we will be releasing a significant (he said it twice SIG-NI-FI-KANT) DP update that will be addressing a lot of the bugs, etc.".
I said, "OK thanks, Bro'" and walked over to East West to see Silk, but nobody was there demo'ing it, because everyone must have been eating hot dogs or some crappy NAMM food; but the people behind the EW counter selling at 30% off were all having a good time laughing & doing nothing...anyway.
Anyone who knows anything about NAMM knows that all companies focus a ton of effort on...NAMM. So, they will get back home, and after the hangover they will release an update...probably.

I seem to recall a product (MachFive ver 2?) that was announced at a NAMM show and released 2 years later?jimwunderlich wrote:Hey hey, so I was at NAMM today and I casually leaned over to one of the MOTU "dudes" during a demo and said "Hey, so when is there gonna be an update that fixes all the NI incompatibilities(with G5), etc. because my •••• keeps crashing"...or something like that. But it won't happen with DP, too many people NEED IT (and love it)

Re: Any news on 6.02?
Sounds to me like June or something. So Motu enjoyed my money from the upgrade for almost a year before releasing a working copy of DP. I wish they had told me " Hey Groove, by the way, DP 6 with PPC and Leopard is a no-go for now, wait for 6.02 before shelling your credit card!"jimwunderlich wrote:He replied "In the next several (?) weeks we will be releasing a significant (he said it twice SIG-NI-FI-KANT) DP update that will be addressing a lot of the bugs, etc."
But the problem is that MOTU's beta testing seems to be culprit: either badly organize or with just not enough users involved. So not all systems configurations are tested. Look at the way Propellerheads does it beta testing; there is the hard core users at the alpha stage and then they release a beta to thousands of users. After a couple of months they release a working copy that you have no fear of buying because you know it's working. THe .01 update of Reason adresse very minor bugs.
I wish MOTU would do the same, but I've been dreaming since version 1...

Re: Any news on 6.02?
Right, all I can say is that they had better not charge us for it. My DP6 is still sitting on the shelf as I use 5.13. Lesson learned! No upgrading until this forum tells me the new upgrade is actually working! If we are all going to be beta testers, at lease we should get an advanced copy!groove wrote:Sounds to me like June or something.
