I am using Waves, SoundToys, Kontakt3, EW Play, StylusRMX, and BFD2

Also, what is the best way to do this? Is it enough to make a separate user account to install 6 to? Or do I really need to make a new partition or a new drive with a whole new OS install and go through the draining process of installing/authorizing plugins, vi's, etc. :( ,lol?

Any insight would be mucho appreciatedo.

Thanks!!

I can check this later, but it appears to be the first file replaced by the installer. Does it work is another question... :)

Just now got in. Glad to see the update. Opened it and enjoyed the improved glare factor and UAD immediately.
Will begin edge edits and see what happens.

Still didn't put back buttons I see. I wish they would at least tell us if they will eventually.

Nick.... Sorry to hear of your shipping dilemma. Those shippers are animals. I'm sure MOTU will make it right man.

Cheers

Kontakt 2 crashed 6.01. Graphics in VIs fixed EXCEPT FOR MACH FIVE VER 2! Duh!

Other VI's seem to be working but I'll give it a good run thru later this weekend.

BTW, launching DP 6 and 6.01 has returned a FATAL ERROR but won't say for what component. Maybe Kontakt? Not DP as it runs after that. Very strange. I'm instructed to "contact the software manufacturer" but it doesn't say which one. I think it is an Apple error message but I'll have to capture it and post it next time.

6.01 does not quit. Anyone else notice this. Have to force quit.

Are you referring to the pixel offset white space that appears in the VI window with MachFive? That's not a show stopper is it? MachFive2 is functionally working okay for me.

I think it's me. Been moding the image files quite a bit and leaving the window open.

Wonder if they'll increase the size of the echo knobs...? Seems a bit more stable. Still sounds great!!!!
I may be down to the GUI but will report in. Opened many previous big sessions so far with good results.

have not tried edge editing yet though or burn to disk.

Updated to 6.01 - some quick thoughts -

GUI is definitely easier on the eyes - the mixer is a light gray, and the open area in TO, etc is also a light gray now. Also in audio files, the background to the waveforms in TO and SE is a gray. In the mixer window, the solo, mute, rec and input button color is brighter. In the sends, the mute and prefader buttons are orange (easier to tell if the send is muted now).

The track inspector is nice, and you can add those things we missed in DP5 into the info bar - play enable, record, etc. IN the selection part of the info bar, there's a curved arrow which selects the track from beginning to end when you double clik it (yeah!). Also there are collapse buttons on all the windows in the Consolidated Window, just when I got used to the key command - :) .

So far, using VIs (NI, Stylus, etc) everything seems to work fine on my system with the DP 6.01 MAS Audiounit support bundle. UAD plugs (version 5) seem to work fine as well - no knob wierdness.

The performance meter has been reduced in size, so it fits up next to the transport nicely again.

Overall, a significant update for a .01 update. Good job, MOTU.

Just some thoughts -
- the sends levels on the mixer could be more pronounced (something like the pan on the sends).
- I love Amplidood's different colors on the transport windows buttons.
- it would be great to have a few more buttons on the right hand side - especially something like markers, chunks, and soundbites (!).
- resizing buttons (like 5.13) in the empty space on the top left hand corner (going to the little ones on the bottom right hand corner takes time, and key commands are ok, but....

DP 5.13 projects seems to run slower than native DP6 projects, this also in 6.00 - DP6 doesn't seem to crash anymore than 5.13 did for me - I also have a zillion freeware and commercial plugins which all seem to work ok for now.

Hope this helps for those wanting to upgrade to DP6 - a big improvement over DP 6.00.

Not a show stopper at all. It's ironic that all the other VIs are fixed except M5. :) Quitting does take longer in DP 6 for me, but if I let it sit for a few seconds it does eventually go away.

Yeah.. that little offset bug is in all the MOTU VIs as I recall except for the included ones with DP. I agree it would be nice to get that fixed soon. I'd also like to see the MAS version of MachFive2 render on BTD, but I think only AU will do that. It has to be updated to do this.

"All" others except M5? Ethno, MX4, and the non-bundled MAS plugs included? Not included?
