If he was a bum, it's likely he was just what you saw - a (poor?), hungry man.

As I said earlier, you're a good man, Joshster. :D

Wakey, wakey - it's time to snap out of it, kids. :D

Looks like we can pack up the buffet and temporary bar; something's gotta give at NAMM.
Look sharp, folks. Who knows what new-fangled greatness DP will shower us with?

Surely we could at least start packing all our gear up slowly, savouring an imminent end to our angst-ridden wait?

'Cornies? WAKE UP!!!

I was going to start a thread about this, however, I found this one.

What is going on in MOTU-land??? Will they be unveiling DP5.5, or DP6.0 TODAY at NAMM? I mean, DP5 was unveiled at NAMM 2005, and DP4 was unveiled at NAMM 2003 (I assume, since I had 4.12 new in Oct 2003). So, shouldn't we be expecting something out of this two year cycle?

I've been concerned about MOTU and DP since Logic 8 debuted and the price dropped to $500. I know I know... DP is a different beast and has been around for a long time. However, try to convince the kids. Logic is hot right now, and that means that DP may not be gaining any market share, and that spells trouble. I love DP and I want to see it succeed. However, I am waiting until the next major announcement to upgrade.

Here's hoping that MOTU has a great NAMM show. And here's hoping that something/anything happens in DP-land while they are there.

Euphonix has already announced that DP will have support for the EuCon protocol used by their new Artist series control surfaces. Seems like MOTU must be readying something if DP is actually going to be compatible sometime soon after these start shipping (1/08 for MC Mix and 3/08 for MC Control).

Agreed on all points, Jeff! :D

Jason, that tidbit is the only clue I've heard apart from Magic Dave's vacuous silence (which I haven't heard! LOL).

[Monkey gazes into his pseudo-crystal silicon ball...]
"All the pieces seem to be falling into place..." he mutters expectantly.

Have faith gearboy. I've a feeling that MOTU is in this game for the long term. 8)

I hope so, because I love this program and never want to have to switch things up!

C'mon MOTU!!!

MOTU doesn't always go to NAMM right? or is AES that they only go to once every two years? I know there is some west-coast show they skip every other year. Were they at NAMM last year?

It's MOTU software and hardware all the way for me. :D

Indeed Jeff!

MOTU takes its time and does it "right".
I've learned that pleading and kicking up a fuss (or indeed flingin' poo!) make no measurable difference to MOTU's obviously carefully-considered timetable.
This is why I'm happy to start or partake in sit-ins but don't get in MOTU's face and make demands.
I figure the subtle reminder of its seeing the thread reappearing on the radar serves the purpose of expressing our longing well enough.

Bottom line:
As Unicorns we have to have faith in MOTU's vision and ability to deliver, a faith that has been rewarded time and time again. :D

Oh, what the heck:
C'mon, MOTU!
