We have an annual event over here called "World's Greatest Shave" - lots of people shave their heads to raise funds for cancer research - emphasis on childhood cancer. I've done it the last couple of years and quite enjoy having a bald head.
When I broke my wrist last year one of the first things I did was shave my head to make life easier.

Lots of stuff and a recently acquired ability to stop buying

I started to grow my hair out when I was in my first year of college back in the early 90's. I was out to dinner with my then girlfriend (now my wife) and the waitress walked up behind us and said, "What will you ladies have?"
It created a bit of an awkward pause when I turned around. I cut my hair shortly there after and have kept it short ever since. Personally I think I really do look better with shorter hair, yet part of me wonders what long hair would be like

Every hour's the same down here, I'm afraid Robbie.
FWIW, this one's called 1:07AM - what do you guys call it?
EDIT: Make that 1:10AM - it took 3 minutes for the "post" to take effect.

Oh man, I'm absolutely sick of this! U'N locks up on me every time I post.
I track the page down through my history and reload it to see if it worked.
I checked this one TWICE, and still it double-posted!
Aaarrrggghhh!
FWIW, I can't delete the Safari cache 'cause I'm in the long process of downloading Apple updates.
Actually, come to think of it, I'm always in the long process of downloading Apple updates.

Ha! Phil dude, 100MB takes me 3 days - I've a 2k connection.
I'm not really up on them either, but there is a small number that is most oft repeated here at the 'Nation:
AFAIK - As far as I know
AFAICT - As far as I can tell
AFAIC - As far as I'm concerned (I use this one, although I haven't checked its legitimacy)
BTW - By the way
IMO - In my opinion
IMHO - In my humble opinion
IOW - In other words
LOL - Laughing out loud
OTOH - On the other hand
PITA - Pain in the ass
ROFL - Rolling on the floor, laughing
TIA - Thanks in advance
TMI - Too much information
YMMV - your mileage may vary

Thank you, I should print these out so I can remember them. Or maybe we could publish a book "I-Bonics for the Digitally inept" or how about "I-bonics for analog people living in a digital world" or maybe more appropriately "I-B FTDI"monkey man wrote:'

Ha! Yeah.
You seemed to like them, so here're some less-used ones (around here) that are nonetheless very popular on the 'net:
LMAO - Laughing my ass off
LMFAO - Laughing my f@#$%&@g ass off
ROFLMAO - Rolling on the floor laughing my ass off
ROFLMFAO - Rolling on the floor laughing my f@#$%&@g ass off
SOL - S@#$ Out of Luck!
STFU - Shut the f@#$ up
Yeah, it's a rough world out there on the 'net.
Enjoy geekdom, Robbie.

True, it does have that Mountain town thing a little, but certainly the desciption you gave about northern Cali sounds alot like Woodstock. You also have a ton of NYC weekenders here or Cityiots as they are called by some peoplejgest wrote: a good year, as I was bornFunny the times I have traveled to woodstock, I got more of a "mountain town vibe" than the 1969 feel......
