G4 867Mhz 15 Inch 512Mbyte RAM, DP 4.61 & Tiger 10.4.4
5400 40 Gig Drive
MOTU 896
No problem recording 8 48Khz signals in
No problem outputting many audio tracks (10+ is the most I used)
Using any of the plugins starts to bring it down fast.

Powerbook 15" 1.5mHz 800ram Tiger 4.6 896HD
Do a lot of on location 88.2 24bit recording, all mic pre's going. No problems. Go higher with 4 inputs from lightpipe, things get dicey fast. This is the case no matter how I set up the clock - Word in or out, light pipe in etc. I think it has more to do with my RAM than the setup. Going to 1.5 gig RAM soon as I need 16 tracks at 24bit 88.2
What are you doing with this info?

Powerbook G4 1,33 1,5 gb of Ram Hd Toshiba 80 Gb 5400 rpm
Motu 896 + 2 Lacies D2 and a Western Digital+Ice enclosure.
Make a few big test monitoring with the cpu and Motu 896 (original)
18 tracks recording with no problems with internal and external HD
Buffer 128 (To monitor)
Studio Size --The biggest
Last Project was, 15 tracks + or - 24 bits 44100
22 Plugins (Motu,Waves,Wavearts,Elemental Audio....)
I could use + plugins, cpu was 65-70% with no playback overloads.
Didn't test VI yet, but sometimes I use DrumkitFromHell and 10 Audiotracks with no problem. (I prefer using Cubase for VI and bounce to audio)
