I tried the MX thingy but never got too deep. I'll check it out for sure. I was really blown away by they magnitude of patches in the M1 recently. Amazing bang for the buck.

Hard to say. For me, the jewel in the collection is the Mono/Poly, which I don't think is included (yet) in any of the hardware synths from Korg. But they say it's the same algorithms and same code in the hardware; maybe even the same exact software other than a GUI rewrite, as Korg tends to use CPU's in their products and run Linux on them.
