Better than 8.0 here, screen redraws faster, much snappier.
However:
Won't play .dv files (even though it sees them).
.mov files uncoded with dv codec (NTSC DV) are running the CPU at 40% (2008 - 8cores).
Then, as soon as the video is switched back to internal, the CPU falls 5%.
This is of course on an empty session (video only).
I ordered a better video card, we'll see next week if the performance improves.
I wish so much DP had the performance of Logic when it comes to handling dv videos. I'm strongly looking into a "slave video computer" option as I'm really planning to stay with DP.

I'm happy to say 8.01 solved my video playback problems!

Just a quick update--
Came back today from some location works & finally found time to re-install the OS, as PJ suggested, to see if it fixes the error -108 problem when opening a move, and, it did!
So, it seems to be a rare problem, but, if anyone is having the same problem as I did, re-installing OS X seems to be the way..

Another little update--
After the OS re-install have fixed my 'error-108 when opening movie' problem, I used 'Mountain Lion Cache Cleaber' app (kind of like Onyx), to 'Deep Clean all caches' of my system later that day (I was doing this every once in a while as it fixed some minor problems in the past).
And after I did that, the -108 error problem returned and I could no longer open movie files in 8.01, so that I had to re-install the OS again and now it's working fine.
However, it seems that, there is something in DP8's video handling method and these 'deep cache cleaning' utilities that don't play well together. I can't think of any logic in this, nor indeed if the two are related at all, but as it(deep cache clean) was the only thing I did before problem recurred, so I though there might be something in this & let you know..

just a suggestion, maybe raise this as a tech note with MOTU - they are usually quite good in incorporating fixes if given the data.
Just log into your MOTU account and you will see the link for creating a tech note.

Hey BKK-OZ, I tried to post tech-note @ MOTU, but their page seems to have a bug, and I can't chose the OS version below the 'dot' if you chose OS10.8 in the system description part, hence can't post the tech-note... Is anyone else having the same problem??
