Everybody got burned with DP 6. From what little I can sense from talking to the MOTU guys at NAMM back around that time, the company pretty much knew that they stepped in it big time with that release. That's why I think they've erred on the side of caution ever since as they know how crucial it is not to have a repeat. The lesson of DP6 was not lost on MOTU. As I recall, there was never a 6.1 because the "6" had been so tarnished by the time they got to 6.03, that even though it was pretty decent by then, the damage had been done. Besides... anytime MOTU gets a new release of DP anything less than perfect, you get the usual hyperbole in the usual forums about how DP is "done for." In a way it's sort of amusing to me, and probably many other forum users here, just how long now DP/MOTU detractors have been predicting the demise of the company, yet how many others have fallen by the wayside over the years.MIDI Life Crisis wrote:Of course I got burned with DeeP 6.
