I think I saw some Sonar related horror story threads on either KVR or GS recently,I'd advise him to wait if possible.

That doesn't sound right. If we stop breathing, will DP 8 happen faster?

Y'all can have your DP 8.00 when it comes out.
I'll be waiting until you help MOTU iron out the kinks, and I'm coming on board around v8.02 or so.
Early adopters - as always, your selfless suicidal sacrifice is much appreciated and shall never be forgotten!!!
(I am endlessly grateful I can always count on the fact that you just can't wait...!!!!)

In most cases I would agree but 64 is a big friggin deal, IMO. Of course I got burned with DeeP 6.

I thought the reason we were waiting the extra months, was to give time to iron out the kinks?

For finding kinks, the largest pool of beta testers never equals the user base.

hehehe... something just strikes me funny about seeing those two words together: "Windows purist."

Everybody got burned with DP 6. From what little I can sense from talking to the MOTU guys at NAMM back around that time, the company pretty much knew that they stepped in it big time with that release. That's why I think they've erred on the side of caution ever since as they know how crucial it is not to have a repeat. The lesson of DP6 was not lost on MOTU. As I recall, there was never a 6.1 because the "6" had been so tarnished by the time they got to 6.03, that even though it was pretty decent by then, the damage had been done. Besides... anytime MOTU gets a new release of DP anything less than perfect, you get the usual hyperbole in the usual forums about how DP is "done for." In a way it's sort of amusing to me, and probably many other forum users here, just how long now DP/MOTU detractors have been predicting the demise of the company, yet how many others have fallen by the wayside over the years.
When you think about it, MOTU, is sort of the "Energizer Unicorn."

They keep going... and going... and going. You really have to give them credit. They must run a tight ship over there and be doing something right to be in the game so long... especially given the less than ideal economy these days.
