I filed a complaint. Perhaps calling Nextel would do something.

That's awesome James. At first I had a minor hang up about posting that link but then decided if that person is posting their number, so can I. That way we can put a stop to it.

Is this the same guy? I see under key words he has DP listed, I think maybe he will install that also.

I think he's just using it as another keyword to trigger more hits if someone is searching for a sequencer or something.

Too bad you can't do some sort of a sting operation on him.

Maybe we could spam him with one 'anonymous' email address?

This particular guy has been doing this on San Diego craigslist openly and brazenly for years. If you ever wanted a more clear example that law enforcement is virtually nil when it comes to this sort of crime... this is it. It's why I created the flagapirate list at yahoogroups.com

Those who haven't joined, I ask you to please do so. It's easy, you don't have to join yahoo, and you won't get flooded with mail. We only have 24 people which is frankly pathetic considering many talk about the problem of (music) software piracy, but when offered an opportunity to help fight the problem in a very easy way, they can't be bothered.

Once more here is the info:
Whenever any of we honest musicians is browsing for a deal on craigslist and we come across one of these dirtbags selling bootlegged software we simply send an email to the list with the URL. It then goes out to everyone on the list who, if they have time, click the link and flag the ad as "prohibited." It takes several flags to actually get the ad removed, so the more people on the list the better.

"Discussion" is discouraged on the list. The only time one should email to the list is to report a URL at craigslist where pirated software is being offered for sale. That way, joining the list isn't an imposition on people since they get few emails. When they do get an email they take just a few moments to click the link and flag the ad. I'm hoping some day we get enough people signed up that we'll reach the point where once a URL is posted to flagapirate@yahoogroups.com it will be flagged down within just a few minutes.

You can join the group without having to join Yahoo groups by sending a blank email from the address you wish to subscribe from to:

flagapirate-subscribe@yahoogroups.com

You will receive an email with a link in it that you click to confirm. When you go to the page to which the link takes you, rather than click the large link that says "Join the group," look below the box and you will see a link that reads "As an alternate option, you may join the mailing list instead." Click that link and you're good to go!

Yikes, only 24??!!? ..and after that long thread about piracy, I would've thought more people would have been signed up :? .
