I'm on 6.03 so I can't import caf files, but I had to mention that I can preview (hear) them using the OS audio preview. Highlight the file (in the finder) and press command y. The window opens and plays the soundbite. You can then arrow up or down to hear other files in the same directory. When I find one I really really want, it can be converted by opening it in quicktime and saving as.
Certainly not as seamless as a dedicated browser, but no one had mentioned it.
Is there a standalone apple loops browser?

That's become my standard browsing method. Geez, I don't know how we ever got along without that. If you're not using Leopard or Snow Leopard, you may not know about QuickLook, and you may be missing out on one of the best innovations in the history of the Mac. So simple. Seems like it should have always been like that, but it wasn't.
Works for pictures, too, and just about any file from almost any app that's been updated in the past few years. Does slide shows at full-screen by adding OPTION to COMMAND-Y.
