Wow - I hope that really does turn out to work like in Pro Tools. I'll be delighted. I love how easy it is in PT to select a region of volume automation, for example, and just drag it to raise or lower it regardless of whether it already has breakpoints, and right in the track near the cursor it displays the level in dB. Much more cumbersome in DP, where you have to first enter breakpoints one at a time, and then drag the lasso to select them...bralston wrote: -There are new automation editing tools. Many of them I see my Pro Tools friends using for years and now DP finally has them too. hard to explain exactly which tools. One is a new trim tool. highlight a section and increase or decrease trim in the highlighted section only.
Cool.bralston wrote: Can scale automation throughout a section as well. But there are more tools now and they are great.
-Hold the cmd key while moving a fader and that fader instantly moves with "fine" resolution. So you can get even more details with the automation movement.
Nice.bralston wrote:-Autocheck for DP updates. So you can stay up to date automatically if you desire...or at least know when an update is available right away.
Great! Lots of people around here have been wanting this for years.bralston wrote: -Auto-Save. You can set it work however you want in the preferences. but it can auto-save at certain intervals. Or even auto-save an incremental copy of everything in another location. However you want.
Have they added a way to mute and solo track folders? This is my number one wish for DP!- New ways to edit and use track folders
Yes. There is now a play button associated with the whole track folder too...so you can mute, solo or play enable/disable a track folder (and thus all of its contents) all at once.Babz wrote:Have they added a way to mute and solo track folders? DP 7.1 is not 64-bit, so you're covered.michkhol wrote:I really hope that 7.1 will be still in 32 bit along with 64. I wouldn't trade the old complex-obscure-but-working-most-of-the-time Carbon GUI for the first version of the "brand new 64 bit" Cocoa one.
Bravisimo!! Now I just have to get DP 7 to work on my comp..lolbralston wrote:Yes. Could it have been spotlight trying to index your disk? You can find out by running activity monitor and looking for MDS or MDS helper using 1/2 of your CPU! I found a utility called spotless that allows you to totally shut off spotlight until you want it to be one.toodamnhip wrote:I wish it was beautiful lady.Radiogal wrote:toodamnhip ... I installed DP 7 and it ran like a turtle. I know that if I completely gutted and re built my system I could probably get it smoking again, but I have too many project and no down time.
So, the usual attempted fixes didn;t help and I had to go back to 5.13.
Frustrating
I for one would just like to say....RecordingArts wrote:Could it have been spotlight trying to index your disk?
