Are chord symbols "smart"? Does DP guess them? If so, I hope it can be overridden.
I too would like to know if they can appear in other editing windows as some kind of marker, or something.
DP 7 looks wonderful !!!
DP7? Is that like a D7 with an added DP6th? (P would actually be a B so in a D chord it would be the 6th!)
It's a sign! AAArrr....

Yes!

Only I would also lower the 3rd. Somehow that would sound even sweeter. Dorian.... my very FAVORITE mode. Yummy!

FM, the chord symbols are typed in. MOTU includes instructions on how to make chord symbols. It's easy, but nonetheless it must be strict. Yes, you can type a 6/9 chord. A Chord Symbol includes a few basic parts: the opening character -- A, Bb, B, C, C#, D, etc.; then the chord type and the desired suffix. You could type: C7(#9b13), and it would give the symbol for that chord. It's got keyboard equivalents for all the chord types.
Chord symbols can be transposed. Once they're in there, they know what they are.
They ride above noteheads or barlines and you can tab through them.

That's awesome! I'm glad we can type chords more sophisticated than mere 7th chords
And that they can be transposed!
Nice. Now I feel even more impatient to get my Dorian 7... errr.... I mean, my DP7.

7 is a number of completion. 8 is new beginnings

That is HUGE! WOOHOO!!

I knew I'd hear some whoops over that. Yes, it IS huge. This is another argument against DP that you can now scratch off the list. One of many complaints that have bitten the dust in recent years. MOTU is listening. They're trying.
Another cool area is the phrase parsing options for DP's "regions" in the Tracks Overview Window. They still haven't given us real MIDI objects or regions a-la-Logic, but these become much more useful. You can have it break the "regions" up into one-bar segments that are easy to work with. Still not enough to satisfy those who want Logic's regions, but a creative person can make a lot more use out of these.
Fades are gone, now calculated in realtime on the fly. No more fade files. Oh, I don't know. DP's a different beast than that of 5 years ago. VERY different.

I have always heard that 7 actually = perfection in numerology
1= new beginnings
8= material things
9= completion

OK, I'll ask again, and maybe more nicely. I'll even make a cake!!
Are there any changes to the notation page?
Are the chords and lyrics included?
Is the page able to handle more than a single line at a time and (oh please) wrap a track to view more?
(Note: not the Quickscribe page.)

Anyone running DP7 on a G5 under Tiger?
Inquiring minds want to know.
