i used a NEUMANN SM69 a lot
today i prefer my SENNHEISER MHK30 & 40 as MS-set
i dream of 2 paired MKH800's. they are so silent. 10 dbA equivalent noise level ... !
i use also DPA omni's
i once tried 2 earthworks. they ask 10 mA from the phantom supply. a ot of noise as you can expect.
for those who stated " not out of the ordinary " ... what did cage wrote ? " music is the silence between the note's " , today it's the noise between the note's ...

Okay, I am at home with the damn thing...
I won't be able to even open the carton box for some days due to impending tasks (including some works on my city's Cathedral organ
) but I promise to keep the board posted about my findings and (hopefully) therapy...

I have the same problem, no help at all from Motu, really bad white noise when the dc power is plugged in

sounds very clean
today my motu is only for playback up to 24 channels by adat & analoge

pitty, the pre amps are ok, theunit has great features, only the phantom supply is bad
i got after checkup and my complaint it was still the same a second unit ... and it was (is) just the same
probably a bad design ...
sad they don't hear the problem
