Get out! That's very interesting. I've seen some cool VST plugs that I can't run in DP6. Makes me wonder... what ever happened to Audioease's VST Wrapper plug? I think that got left behind at a version compatible with DP 4.x.
I've been using FXPansion's(?) VST-AU wrapper for a few years. I don't think they've updated it, but it's still working. I have a system similar to yours.
I had no idea Bidule was that powerful, seems like a really nice solution for bloated orchestral templates.
Bummer! They pulled the demo! Now we have to wait for the release version and pay MORE. Figures!
OR NOT!
Their forum pages date back to 2004 and 2005 where they promise the program will be released at some point. It's 5 years later now - so where is it? Has this thing already gone vaporware?!
This from the developer today:
Our demo versions have a fixed expiry date of three months after
their release. Since that date has passed, we took the download
offline because it would simply say expired and not run for anyone
not owning a Bidule license.
We expect, barring any unforeseen problems, to release the new version
with its demo at the end of this week/beginning of next week.
Very nice!
Very Nice Indeedy!
Although I was ready to just go ahead and buy the thing blind, this seems like such a no brainer.
If this thing really can support setups in a stable manner just think, you could have all kinds of monster setups. Ultimate rock setups (drum VI's, guitar, etc.), orchestral, whatever. And all running outside of DP so as not to rock the boat.
MIDI, your avatars are cracking me up.

You have inspired me and I bought Bidule! I may be picking some folks brains on here as to how to set this up for DP. I am so excited about this. I have most of the VIs that you have and to be able to setup an orchestral work flow like yours, would be GREAT!

By the way, I want to thank c0mp0ser publicly for this awesome post. This post completely embodies the sort of information and exchange that I hoped for when creating this site so many years ago. I know personally it has stirred my imagination and helped me to think about using DP in new ways. Imagine how much could be gleaned if there were more posts like this! Thanks again, c0mp0ser!!!

Could you download it today? Or did you buy it 'preemptively?'
I took the plunge and bought it! Now all I have to do is have someone explain to me how the heck to set this thin up with DP. I see a big learning curve coming my way
Peace

James,
I could not agree with you more! This has inspired me and I am VERY excited about this. I bought Bidule! Now all I have to do is figure out how the heck to set it up with DP.

They got my $75 last night too, I'll be experimenting with some setups this week (mainly for K3) and I'll let everyone know what I find out.

Did you then download the older version I guess? There's a link they say in their forums for registered users, but no demo version available currently. Let us know how it goes, as seems you have to take the plunge without demoing for now.

This is where I'm confused as well, James. But they did email me that a new version will be out later this week so it's probably best to wait a few days.
Nice to know so many of the members here will be digging into this - misery LOVES company!

I just finished a demo for a project last weekend that was a nightmare because of K3 not being very cooperative with DP6 and VSL (I think) so the sooner I can find some workaround the better.
There is a link on their forum where you can download any of their current versions, they just have to be pointed to a keycode that's only available to registered users in order to run. Here it is:
I have to say after only spending a few hours with this software it really couldn't be more straight forward and there's something nice about a good barebones interface after wading through all the GUI junk thats in most software these days.

Wow! Thanks James! You made my day! Well, I have to say that Unicornation/Motunation has been of immeasurable worth to me for several years now. I very rarely did any posting or contributing, so I'm happy to return at least something of miniscule value compared to what I received from this forum.
So, regarding Bidule... I completely forgot that the beta version ended when posting my video. They had that Beta version out for some time, which was fully functional, but would stop functioning in February if you didn't register it for $75... which I had already done in Jan. It was great being able to try it before paying the $75. But it looks like they'll be releasing a demo shortly that probably has some kind of time limit, then locks up. I would just be patient and wait for the demo if you're cheap like me.
Although it would have been nice for them to release a demo on the same day that the Beta ended.... but oh well.
