dp works fine now in tiger, but mach5 doesnt.... all uvi engine vi's work things looking up i also tested with good results the MIDI/network driver over airport!!! and got near 0 latency.... who needs logic nodes when you have the MIDI/network driver native in the os it worked great on my test... i must mention i was playing a hardware synth didnt try a full blown VI... but the future looks very bright for us music people....
Can you please clarify motumacman: First, I thought Mach5 *was* a UVI engine VI? Second, can you explain how MIDI over wifi could replace the Logic/Apple node model. -thanks

Please explain what did you do, because Dp 4.52 doesn't work on Tiger for me. I cannot save the sessions and the program Menus are empty!

It looks like DP has a better chance to work on a powerbook with Tiger than Desktop.

Has anyone actually gotten this to work on a DUAL CPU G5 desktop yet?

As soon as I hit play...... Crash! This can be as little as an empty 'MIDI only' session, it does not matter.

I have tried taking out everything and reducing the session to just a play command with ALL plugs removed.

On the original 4.0, I remember a setting where you could select single CPU. Anyone try that yet?

Maybe the single CPU Laptops are more compatible but as far as I'm concerned it's a bust on desktop dual CPU.

I see no Tiger stable upgrades from MOTU yet either as of this post the 29th.

______________

If you guys buy a new machine, make sure you copy Panther OS from somebody. Looks like the only answer.

I doubt if Apple would mind a copy at all in this case. Get your new machine and another drive, that way you can leave on the Tiger install on the original drive in hopes MOTU will come through some day. Also for Phone support too.

@ALO <<I cannot save the sessions and the program Menus are empty!>> Ive had same Problem under Panther... For me was the solution to change the longuage from german to english. Try it if you are running OS X in spanish.
Best Giga

i did a complete full clean install, i think with the upgrade install some libraries might be getting lost. try a clean full install and it sould work, it works fine once you do a clean install

Doing this on a second drive is pretty painless so I'll give it a go Dan.

I'm backing up now and will try but if UAD1 is broke that's 20% of my usage and Mach 5 is another 20% , I would say it's kinda futile unless there is some incredible improvements with 64bit speeds so it's still a bust until we get the facts.

I still fear 2.0 through 2.7 desktops may not work.

Same here. Tiger is cool though, but I won't install it on my dual 1.8 until Motu, UAD, Propellarhead, Waves, etc. release a Tiger ready update.

There are two new files posted at MotU's website downloads section: a new MIDI driver and a new firewire driver. The firewire driver is no longer in beta.
