I have asus G50V and the ultralite mk3. They work OK together. The firewire port is RICOH. At times there's a slight lag when using it, but i'm satisfied.

Vista and my Mk3 are dreadful together. there is no point in even firing up any DAW at all. however XP works perfectly. i can push it to the limit at low buffer settings and get virtually no clicks or pops. anyone in a similar situation, should definitely give XP a shot on your ASUS. i had to look hard tho to find XP drivers for my G71v
