It would appear that URS Channel Strip Pro has been updated today to version 1.1.1 and supposed to now work with DP6. I have not tried it as I have not loaded DP6 yet. Once Melodyne is compatible maybe I will. Anyway-email from Bobby Nathan said that you must download the OSX Intel-Leopard version even if you are on PPC. The PPC download was still version 1.1.0 when I downloaded it.
Peace!

tomdp wrote:It happened to me as well, Auto-Tune 5 crash (was fine in DP5.13). Can't wait to update to AT6 EVO.

Synthogy Ivory 1.71 (even after the recent update). Freeze after freeze...I always have to do hard shut down when it happens...really bad for Hard Drives...
This plug-in also makes everything stopped with beach ball of death when I hit "Save" too quickly. If I don't have this plugged in there's absolutely no crash or beachballing.

In my case these are the headache plug-ins.

UAD plugs are working super on the other hand!

DP6.0.1, Mac Pro 8 core 2.8Ghz with 4GB Ram, OSX 10.5.5

I'm still using Ivory 1.03. It works fine in standalone and in DP. Must be something gone wrong with their updated version. Thanks for the tip-off; I'll stay back with 1.03 until I hear good news.

One other thing; I've been using MachFive2.02 extensively with DP 6.01 in 10.5.5, and have had zero problems. Sometimes it's open all day. But I'm convinced there could be a 3rd culprit that is causing some of these crashes. It could be an audio or a MIDI driver. It's happened before (before DP 5 came out), and it could be happening now. I am usually slow to upgrade my drivers, (until I am sure that I MUST upgrade) so sometimes that's why I'm using a stable system and others are crashing. Back to MachFive2, some people are experiencing crashes, but most that have responded about it in the MachFive thread say it's working ok.

Issues I've had with Omnisphere in DP6.01 which I have reported to Spectrasonics (note my system below) These are not MOTU issues to resolve IMO:

1. Must enable Always run in Realtime (I check Default to Run in Realtime) to avoid DP 6.01 crash when closing Omnisphere effects window (100% repeatable)
2. Omnisphere won't receive MIDI data correctly on MIDI channels 2-8. Always plays channel 1 patch regardless of MIDI track assignment in DP
Spectrasonics, after a conversation with them, IMO is on the case, and seems to be welcoming reports of performance issues.

Omnisphere BTD works well (and fast) on my system

Regarding Mach5v2 and BTD:

Because of the well reported issue with Mach5v2 MAS not bouncing to disk, I've enabled, in DP Preferences, the AU version and disabled the MAS version. AU version BTD works well.

The one step BTD of VI's in DP6 is an incredible work flow enhancer for me, I can't praise it enough. The plugin/VI enable/disable feature isn't bad either!

Right now I am still using a PPC G5 running DP 5.1.3 and I am not having ANY problems. I do own DP 6.01 and have it installed on my new Intel G5, but I have to tell you that there are SOOOOO many problems that I am no where near ready to switch my main recording system over to the new machine. Right now I am using the new machine as a host for stand alone programs that do work. How can DP6 NOT work on AU plugs, especially Native Instruments, which I use a lot? At least I have the luxury of switching over SLOWLY. This just reinforces my belief of not upgrading until I know things will run smoothly. At least my work flow has not suffered!

The URS Strip Pro update now works without sidechain for me, too.
FabFilter plugins work, except for the newer ones with sidechain (Volcano 2 for me - I don't have the compressor) Timeless and Twin seem fine.
I brought Arturia's CS-80 into a new project and I got in an error loop where I had to click "OK" a zillion times before I could quit the plugin and remove it from the project. Didn't completely crash DP, at least.
I'm using DP 6.01 with the 6.01 MAS-AU bundle.

I'll repeat: many of the NI issues only happen with the combination of PPC, DP 6.01, and Leopard.

James - I'm running Intel/DP6.01/Leopard - as is my studio partner, and we're both getting fairly constant random crashes and hangs. Is it NI? Who knows? What I meant was that we're getting the hangs, but it's just not predictable enough to say what is causing them.

Except we're both using Kontakt 3 and Play. And Fabfilter plugins, Ivory and Machfive 2.

I get crashes changing between windows in the consolidated window, particularly the Chunk mixing board and the V-Rack mixing board.

I get a totally repeatable crash on BTD, caused by DP telling Play to reload it's sample and then Omnisphere at the same time, which then hangs DP.

Plus constant "MacOs Error 108 - Out Of Memory" - which then comes up once for every window open before crashing DP. But randomly. Then 45 sec spinning beach ball episodes before it all comes creaking back to life again...

Wits end?

Fortunately I've still got DP5.13 on my old Dual G5 running Tiger, for the legacy jobs that definitely will come back...

I have added this in another thread, but...
Vielklang harmony creating AU has blank window problems in 6.0.1, very annoying, but usuable.
dbAudioware's Vocal intensifier AU effect blocks DP6's audio signal and has to be removed.

Vielkling have sorted their problem and will include it in the next update, soon.

Just received DP6 upgrade. I'm leaving town for a week and will install when I return. Anyone find any issues with UAD1 plugs?

Ouch! You got me. Hey the thing looks (and weighs) just like my G5! Sorry, I should have said MacPro! This still does not help me with the fact that DP6.0.1 won't see some of my NI plugs. I so want to use DP6 and my new MacPro full time, but just can't go there yet :?

You can add the latest version of BFD 2. I can't even open a session that has BFD 2 in it with DP 6.01 but it does work in 5.13 very well. I don't know if Dp 6 is really ready for prime time. It is getting very frustrating and I am really starting to think about going to protools or logic. I feel that motu maybe showing a real lack of professionalism. Just reading this thread is very disturbing.
