What version of M5 v1 are you using — 1.2.3? Check the version on the plug-in file itself, in /Library/Audio/Plug-ins/MAS.

I have a theme going that is in 6.0 so i opened it up in 6.01 and right away tried melodyne and a UA plugin, both of which worked.

Very encouraging.

That is really wild! I got no PDF with my download. I just did a search for DP 6.01 and came up with zilch.

Also, I just checked my downloads again and still get this blurb:

There are currently no updates available for the version of Digital Performer registered to your MOTU.com login ID, or you do not have any Digital Performer registrations linked with your MOTU.com login ID...
I got the same thing when checking my downloads. You have to get it from this page: http://www.motu.com/download/download_m ... oad_id=150

I don't think this release is meant to fix all -- or even very many -- of the problems people are experiencing. I think they had a list of things they didn't complete before releasing 6.0 and that's what we're seeing with 6.01, with maybe just a few bug or configuration fixes. I think the next release will have more bug fixes.

Well the UAD stuff seems to be working great.

No doubt, it wouldn't fix all issues. It certainly wouldn't fix an issue related to a new version of a third-party plugin. I'm glad to hear that the UAD issue is among the positives. But I also hope that certain GUI issues that caused 6.0 to crash (with no plugins loaded) when selecting tracks, deleting markers, etc., has been taken care of.

I haven't quite threaded the needle on the pre-rendering thing: "always run in real time" and "default to real time". There's a global element along with a local per-instance element at least implied. But kwiz's observation that remaining record-enable delays (which I've avoided by disabling pre-rendering) sort of concerns me. I can still run in real time if pre-rendering causes an action delay and subsequent crash, but it would be nice if this weren't a problem at all.

And I'm still keeping an eye out for that volume surge thingy.

Yeah, that's good. They had to fix something! I'm going to check splicing and edge editing and fades, those were the killers for me.

I also notice they added back the automation snapshot button.

I think this fixes the "MIDI logjam" issue too.... I had a sequence that a friend sent me that would cause this to happen when you located back and forth and now it doesn't do this. I'd be curious if other users who were getting the MIDI "machine gun" effect to try this out and verify.

What is this issue? I'm not sure I'm aware of it.

I believe it's when switching between MIDI tracks for example with the arrow keys to quickly record enable them. You could do this in DP easily, but in DP 6 there is a noticeable lag and beachball that happens especially when switch between tracks that are assigned to different plugins.

yes the beachball + lag syndrome while switching tracks to record on (MIDI, aux or audio)

jeez

My prime motivations for seeking the swap with the wholesaler are the fact that I was laughed at and my request ignored (even though it was agreed to by the boss), leading to much unanticipated loss of sleep, and that the manuals have arrived in a very sorry state; the heavily crumpled corners of both books are at the very least an eyesore and a distraction.

Further, I'd estimated to the fella that 6.01 would be shipping within 2 weeks or so, in response to which he laughed out aloud. That was 8 days ago.
That is unacceptable, and it really ticks me off. At the very least, Nicky, I would write a hard copy letter to MOTU headquarters stating the facts of the situation.

I'm sure MOTU doesn't want their distributors treating their customers that way, and there needs to be some accountability.

But don't write it when you're too angry. IMHO, the facts will speak for themselves.

I'm having problems with 6.0.1 which do not occur in 6.0

3 of my Sonnox plug-ins were crashing 6.0.1 on start. I switched all Sonnox plug-ins to 'render in real time' and made this the default. Now just the TransMod causes a crash at start up.

If the plug-ins are not used they don't cause a problem. If I use TransMod I get a crash so I've taken it out of the Components folder.

Strange. The same file with TransMod activated opens in 6.0 but not 6.0.1. and it was only the Sonnox plug-ins that caused a problem. Anyone else having similar problems?
