Thanks Shooshie. Yeah, it's hard to believe, but it's there, plain as day.
DAE is kinda the red headed step child of MOTU/DP.
Stepchild? You mean Stepfather! DP was a front end for the Audiomedia HD recording system that matched Performer's MIDI prowess with Digidesign's audio. It continued to do that until MOTU decided that Macs were fast enough to do audio without all that gear. So, DP began in earnest with 2 tracks, then 4 tracks, then 8, then unlimited except by RAM. So, Digi was the audio portion of "Digital Performer" until the MAS audio system was born. It's been a long, strange relationship, but Digi is the dad. Somehow, I think that the mom and dad never really married. ;)

We also have a problem with bussing at the studio, but different.
When we "fix" a vocal track and buss it out (via aux) to a new track (we dont merge because of fades and pitch correction causing clicks and pops), the resulted audio file is not accurate at all, meaning its either ahead or late compared to original audio, but not in a consistent way.

Some precisions : yes we bypassed all automation and plug ins before bussing to a new track.

If anyone has the same problem, or know what we re missing, or just want to complain about the bussing in DP6 please show up
Are you sending out via an aux bus send (pre-fader) or are you routing the track (post fader) via bus to a new track?
Routing the track via bus. Didn't test it again today, but we'll see maybe it was just in the session. Or it's a main DP6 issue, which I hope not!

Oh man was I late to this party.. I just discovered this myself tonight, as I was checking out DP6..What the heck???!!!!

Thanks tonwurm for the heads up, and alerting MOTU with the tech note..

Its good to know that there's a small DP DAE crew here at UnicoNation.. I'm getting so frustrated by MOTU continually dropping the ball with DAE.. I'm all for being a squeaky wheel, and calling, or emailing MOTU when these problems come up..

Maybe someday James will grant us a special DP DAE user board here at the 'nation for the 5 of us..

(it would be a lot easier for me than doing searches for all of tripit's posts all the time)

Just an update - heard back from MOTU today. They confirmed the bus record issue. It's to be fixed in a future update. Not sure if that means in the next update or not, but I would imagine that they would take care of such a major overlook pronto.

yes, I´ve posted it a few days ago in this thread - they confirmed several issues:

- the busses bug

"We have been able to reproduce the issue you have described. This issue will be addressed in a future update to DP6."

- the probs with audiosuite edits on wav-files and on all (!) stereo-files (reduced to only half the length than before editing)

"Currently, Audiosuite plug-ins are not functioning properly with DAE versions 7.4 and up in DP. This will be addressed in a future update to Digital Performer."

Thanks for this info, guys and gals. I think it's important to convey pertinent information from personal e-mails sent by MOTU tech support. It's part of what makes this place tick and everybody wins.

Thanks again for sharing,
Phil
