I was just checking in on this thread as I was concerned it might have been an elitist rant against NASCAR, and I'm looking to squash all resemblance to a Country Club mentality here!

No problem. Here's your putter. Meet you at the windmill on the 9th hole. :)

After a course of treatment and brief period of convalescence at Tekserve, the problem seems to have been a dodgy processor.

Mind you, not a month before, the processor AND logic board had been changed in an attempt to stop the fans racing at odd times, and it was after that first fix (which didnt help) that the new problem showed up.

So far so good though, it's behaving quite nicely. Let's hope it holds!

Let's make that the 19th hole, shall we?

Gavin

PS No, it's not liquid cooled. Do liquid cooled mac have fans as well?

Glad to hear (I'm sure your glad to NOT hear) the racing fans problem is resolved. I agree, we should all meet at the 19th hole and swap lies over beers! :D

Okay... 19th hole... by the video games. That's after the 18th hole that has the log dangling from a chain hanging right over the cup. If we catch you cheating again and having a friend hold the log out of the way though, you are disqualified.

Yes they do. I lost my G5 due to the liquid coolant leakage.
