And is it safe to assume that the help you are seeking might not be available here at Unicornation? Care to share the issues with us?

FWIW here is the post I made to the MOTU techlinks:

-----------------------------------------------------------------

I have been setting up a new project to use as a template with BFD2. basically I have a BFD2 instrument instance and then 6 separate aux channels, 1 for each drum. I setup the audio input of each aux to the appropriate BFD output at the bottom of the mixer. then I save the project.

when I reopen it all of the BFD aux inputs are changed to Reason instruments! I own Reason 4, but there is no Reason instrument set up in this project. I go to the Bundles Instrument window & I see Reason channels 1-64 and then the BFD channels. as far as I can tell there is no rational for the Reason channels to appear at all. while I can and will obviously have to keep resetting the channel assignments every time I want to use BFD, it is a major hassle to do every single time.

this seems to be a known issue on UnicornNation forum. I need a fix or workaround...

also, other users have reported this and it is apparently NOT particular to BFD or to Reason and has been in DP since version 4! will this be addressed in V6?

@ MIDI Life Crisis

thanks

i`ve posted it here in this thread (page2) as response to the "glory" posts from BradLyons.

this was the post:

@ BradLyons

please code me new drivers / new bios....

sorry for that but we are talking about worldwide support.

if one of your techis has the time, here comes a very special problem regarding memory resource allocation.

Notebook_Expresscard_Motu_Firewire_problem_eng_Fr.pdf (378 KB)

additional files mentioned in the pdf.
#1 http://b.imagehost.org/download/0864/1_9.mht
#2 http://b.imagehost.org/download/0864/2_6.mht
#3 http://b.imagehost.org/download/0864/3_9.mht

pleas don`t tell me "this is a special problem".

i know that, that is why i`ve contacted motu techsupport

@ all

i think every one who got no response to their techlink/s should
write an email to customerservice@motu.com

to remember them that they have a systems with open customer questions/problems :!: :!: :!:

it's actually customerservice@motu.com. my email just got bounced back!

not to flog a dead horse too bad but on their contact page it says the following:

"Technical support questions should be submitted as a MOTU TechLink." and a link goes to the TechLink page...

Anyone else getting confused by how this thread is proceeding? I'm not sure who's problem is being addressed here, climber (who started the thread) or acidrecords.

As for the BFD and Reason issue, there was a thread on here recently that addressed this so you may want to do a search. I use neither, so I cannot help that.

my only problem is, i need support from motu experts and they are real slow in supporting me. only they can help me, cause they coded there hard&sw.
(it`s regarding a ressource allocation problem...)

i`m getting angry... 10days without any response, or better status: unread > that suxx

the original reason for the thread was to point to a problem with MOTU support, not to address a specific issue.
As for the BFD and Reason issue, there was a thread on here recently that addressed this so you may want to do a search. I use neither, so I cannot help that.
that was probably my thread. someone provided me with a workaround. however the bug/problem still exists & I want to know that MOTU knows & find out if it is being addressed. I was quite surprised to find that they aren't even reading the TechLinks & wanted others to know.
