Not to get off topic here, but have you had your 828mk2 modded by BLA? Holy crap the mod is fantastic and reverbs are now clear as a bell. I've A/B'd mixes in DP (full DP sessions) between my stock and modded 828mk2s and it's night and day. So worth it.

I'm installing and checking these out this evening. So excited, yet sad. Will I ever use the MWEQ again? That plug-in has been on every mix of mine since it debuted in DP. We'll see if I can survive without its spectrum analyzer... it may chase any of the NF EQs that I use from this point forward, for metering alone!

I may have to remix the 14 songs that I've worked on the past two weeks!!!

I thought I heard something about that mod making some sort of clock not work any longer, or some sort of sync...

How long does it take?

I can't not have my 828 for more than a day or two

Well, I'm pretty sure that if you are using your 828mk2 as the master clock, and you definitely will want to post mod, you're not going to have any complaints.

Email Black Lion... I'm pretty sure that all issues are PC-driver related.

Well, that's exactly why it took me so long to send mine off. I simply bought another 828mk2 over the summer, used, and made it my main 828 for a few months to burn it in. I had to get my original 828mk2 back to MOTU for a screen repair as well (now I have a brand new 828mk2!!!), so I took care of that, first. I figure that if you cannot do audio work without the 828mk2, then you should have two of them, even though they are built like tanks. Backups are important in this day and age. I plan on having my other 828mk2 either modded this spring, or I am going to sell it, buy a Traveller, and have BLA mod that instead (extra preamps, 192K, etc).

It took BLA about 10 days roundtrip.

Ok, back to Nomad Factory Bundles and such!!!

All I have to say is that these plug-ins are the bee's knees. So happy about them.

I think they're the shiznit too. I had the demo of Trackbox about to expire last month, and made sure to finish a particular vocal track before the demo quit. :) Now I have the full authorization, and this thing is going to be used, and I mean used.

does anyone know if people can get in on this starting now by just signing up today and getting the group buy price?

You can buy, I believe, three bundles with your Group Buy discount. I believe that this means that you can buy multiple copies for friends. I read this in the last 24 hrs on the don't crac[k] site.

Speaking of which, I had an issue obtaining my serial number after paying for the plug-ins. I sent an email in, literally responding to the Group Buy receipt, and within 30mins I received a phone call that straightened everything out. Eric from don't crac[k] was a tremendous help and fixed the problem within minutes. Great company.

I cannot express how happy I am with this purchase. I honestly only scraped the tip of the iceberg this evening (just a few hours), but I am very happy with the improvments these plugs are adding to current mixes. Subtle, yet wonderful.

I am amazed at how great the Limiting Amplifier is as a Master Fader peak limiter. I've mixed 14 songs in the past 10 days and my clients/friends are really happy with them, but now I am tempted to spend a day or two adding the LA on most of the mixes. It sounds that good. I usually wait until I am out of DP and Limit/Dither with Ozone3. I like using a touch of the LA on my Master Fader. It's a great sweetener.

I've also played with the Program EQ and a few tweaks of one of the presets on the drum bus made a huge difference. Played with a bunch of the BlueTubes stuff and they are really nice as well. I really like the Blue Tubes Driver. Adding it to the drum bus post Program EQ and kicking things up a dB or two makes the drums sound huge.

The Vintage Studio Bundle will definitely be replacing the MWEQ and the Waves Ren Comp for a lot of my mixes moving forward. Not that these are bad plugs; it's just that the BlueTubes has the right amount of colour and I've been accoustomed to using very neutral sounding plug-ins for EQ and compression and then adding the TRacks limiter for a little tubey vibe.
I'm interested to see how I do things six months from now!

I want to take a minute and praise Nomad Factory for doing right by their customers.

I registered for the group buy and had some trouble registering with the serial number I was given. I sent an e-mail and got a prompt, straightforward reply that a particular plug was not part of the bundle I bought.

I wrote back and told them I thought that it was; they replied (again within 24 hours) that it was possible I saw something that was an error in the advertising regarding certain content, and gave me a new authorization code to unlock the software I thought I was qualified for.

I certainly didn't expect that, and I think it's a big step up to the plate for them to acknowledge a possible error causing the confusion and giving me the benefit of the doubt.

When I have the resources, I'll be sure to add to my set of Nomad plugs.

Many of us have complained about MOTU's secrecy, delays in upgrades, failures to let us know what's been fixed and what's wrong in various versions, failure to provide a bug fix history. I think MOTU wants the world to think it's products have never had a single bug. The truth is, MOTU's policy if EFFIN MYSTERY for us all. I love many things about DP and MOTU, this insane policy of secrecy on the part of MOTU irks me to no end!

Recently, many of us took advantage of the Nomad Factory Blue Tubes group buy. Well, already, (in 4 days), this great comapny has found a bug and provided a patch. There is no mystery, no time lag, no secrecy, no begging by users for a fix. You can tell this company cares, they actually publicly apologize! I think MOTU cares too, but their secrecy sucks. I recall one patch provided yrs ago, which was great. But I had to call tech support and have it e mailed to me. It was never anounced and nevver available on MOTU's website..again, secrecy. Maybe the owner is a paranoid type, fearing company collapse should any flaw EVER be admitted.

Below you will find an excellent example of how a compnay SHOULD be about it's software, it's bugs and it's updates. I doubt this compnay will collapse after admitting it;s bug.
I hope MOTU is watching, I want this from MOTU..I want this type of service big time...
Be open..be honest, be forthright...keep us in the loop!

Dear Nomad Factory Customer,

A compatibility problem has been found in the following products:

1) Blue Tubes Bundle v2.5 AU version
2) BlueVerb DRV-2080 AU version
3) Analog Signature Pack AU version
4) Essential Studio Suite AU version
5) Liquid Bundle II AU version

ISSUE: The plug-in setting saved into a session was not cross platform
compatible (PPC Intel Macs), causing the saved setting to not be
recalled
correctly.

This issue has been corrected, with the new available 'Hot fix'
upgrade.

NOTE: Intel Macs users might encounter some problems to recall the
saved
setting with prior versions, before replacing your actual plug-ins
versions,
we recommend to save individually the presets used into your sessions,
so
you can re-load the setting if needed.

Please download and re-install the latest version from our download
page.

Sorry for the inconveniences.

PS...
James, you can move this to rants and raves if you like, but I think it is important enough to show in the main page, plus, it's technical as it let;s Blue tubes buyers know there;s a patch...but move it if you must...But this is a long term grip many of us have had at the nation...it does not mean we don;t love our software, but I doubt anyonne love the secrecy

I'll back up the Nomad support as being very good. I've only had a couple very minor issues that were addressed immediately. One instance was late at night on a Sunday, and it was in response to an email I sent. I also couldn't be any happier with the two bundles I bought (BlueTubes 3 and Analog Signature). I even added BlueVerb to the collection recently, and I know that it was partly because of how impressed I am with this company.

Yeah, right... I get it... point made... point made... again and again...

I can't move just your post... I'd have to move the whole thread which really mostly didn't need moving. Of course you pretty much created a new thread with a post very similar to this one so you're getting your point across.

Does anybody know if there is any chance of getting the group buy from dontcrack? I know it is officially over, but, gosh-darn-it, I just found out about it!
