Well I've closed the issue.

I had the Traveler changed since it wasn't working. The new one seems ok.
In the meantime I'm in the process of purchasing a mac pro. for budget reasons I'd like to stick to the 2 ghz version. Anyone had experience on this particular machne?

I've just received the new unit, it works perfect, by now!

It was strange to me, because my experiences with MOTU interfaces have been awesome.
